That’s what makes me happy! They have stuff I can’t find at Michael’s!!! ANyway….I went in there today and was talking to the owner. 1. Erinwillis Says:

I would definately take a cards class if I ever get adult interaction again (my macey refuses to take a bottle!! loves the boob!). Cards are less intimidating for me. And you make the best cards around!

  2. Christi in AZ Says:

Congratulations on your new job!! What could be more perfect? I must say I am not surprised they are lucky to have you!! Personally, I have not really enjoyed any classes I have taken. I guess I would want a class that taught more advanced techniques. I prefer layouts vs. cards or mini albums. Hope that helps. Keep us posted on how your classes go.

  3. Lori Borntreger Says:

YAY!!!! I’m so excited for you!!!! They will be lucky to have you doing classes!!! I would say I prefer lo’s and mini-books at classes! But since I know you, I would take ANY class from you!!!!! Can’t wait to hear about your first class!!!

  4. Maddy Says:

Oh that would be so awesome if you taught classes! You would be AMAZING! I always like the holiday classes. Like the SE one with all the Christmas tags and all that jazz. So like little holiday decorations or gifts. It would be fun and then you’d never get bored!

  5. Chris Says:

congrats on your new job and on your 5ooth post.

  6. marcia Says:

    Congrats on the job!!!

I would love a mini album class and maybe throw in a card or 2 (or some other little project…);)from the scraps

  7. Tammy C Says:

Congratulations on your new job, how fun to teach classes! I would have to say I like taking classes about mini albums, preferably something I’m not used to doing like acryllic albums or chipboard books. Classes on altered items are good too.
    Congrats again!

  8. Mindy Says:

I am a lover of altered projects. I have never taken an actual class!! I need to!

  9. Heather Says:

Congratulations on teaching classes! Personally I like to take classes that are technique based or general rather than specific or can be applied to a variety of pages, layouts or projects. Clear as mud, right!?

  10. Beth S Says:

Congrats on the new job! I love taking classes on just about anything. My favorites are minibooks and altered items are my favorites. I love to learn new techniques. :-)

  11. Susie Says:

Congratulations!!! They are extremely lucky and I know you will WoW them.
When we moved the LSS did the same thing. She wanted to see my layouts and asked me to be part of her Design Team, She was really the first person to give me encouragement. I was nervous teaching my first class but now I love teaching layouts and the people that come to the classes also love to alter items.

  12. cristen Says:

first off congrats. i would say 2 page layouts and mini books. i have a lss that we have classes there but the teacher is leaving witch is super sad so i am takeing all the classes there are left. forgot to tell the hubby he get to watch the 1yearold dd. um maybe i would take a card class to i dont know how to make pretty cards

  13. Mary Ann Says:

Congrats on your new gig! What motivates me to spend time & money for a class is a project that teaches some kind of new technique that I can then use on my own creations. Good luck!

  14. Marti Says:

Shanna - you make the world’s most fantabulous cards so definitely teach one of those! If I lived there, I’d take all of your classes. Teach anything and everything! Congrats, girlie! That is so cool!!!

  15. Melissa Says:

Congratulations! That is wonderful news! I like classes that create layouts or use new techniques. I always like to attend a class that makes me feel like I’m “catching up.” Even if it is never possible. I also like classes altering things that can be used for storage.

  16. Meghan Says:

Since I have only ever taken one class & that was a beginning scrapbooking class, I would take any class offered.
I am not a lot help, am I? LOL

    Congrats on 500!
I just made 300 on my blogerooni!

  17. Trace Says:

    Congrats girl!!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE to take classes for altered projects..preferable for home decor theme.
    Trace

  18. Tara Says:

Oooh! How fun! Congrats on the job AND the 500th post! Sounds like you had a good day ;)

  19. Samantha Says:

I love mini book classes… you can never learn to much mini book related stuff!

  20. Carolyn Says:

I love layout classes…only because I am so far behind on scrappin, I can use any help I can get. I adore the other things but prefer layout classes.

WTG on getting the new gig!! You rock and will make new friends in no time!

  21. Teri Says:

Funny you should ask. Some really cool friends of mine just put together a private class on acrylic albums last Friday night. I wasn’t able to attend but can not wait until I get mine in the mail! So I would say that I love small album classes the best.

  22. Teri Says:

After reading through some of the other posts, I would have to agree… an altered item class from you would ROCK too!

  23. sharon Says:

Congratulations! I taught at my LSS out in Kansas City for a solid 3 years. They loved mini books (esp the OSW formula - 6″ x 6″), but really wanted to do pages for their albums. I tried to give them techniques while also finishing layouts. For example, the packing tape transfers that they put on tags that went on a layout. I tried to follow themes around holidays and if there weren’t any major ones, I filled in with birthdays, weddings, baby, etc. I’d be happy to chat more if you’d like! Way to go!! They are so lucky to have you and your future students are going to love you.

    Sharon

  24. Tami F. Says:

That’s so cool!! You just amaze me!! I love that confidence of yours and I know you’ll be so awesome at teaching those classes! I’d still be hiding out at home afraid to venture out into that new world…lol Take care!

  25. Tami F. Says:

Oh, shoot, was I supposed to tell you what kind of class I would take?!?!? LOL

Well, I’m a different kind of class taker. I like detailed things — something I wouldn’t know how to do otherwise and need to be taught. Other than that, I love mini books (different shaped ones not just the traditional 6×6 or 8×8) with lots of little details. Okay, this kind of class I’m talking about would probably cost a fortune, but that’s the kind I like :D

  26. Anne Says:

Yeah, you!! How awesome is that?! I would definitely think about a mixed class- cards and altered. Maybe some fun table sets for your BBQ or summer party….along with the invites, of course! Or fourth of July fun- centerpieces, invites, doodads- very timely! Have fun!!

  27. Kristi Says:

Hey SHanna!!!! Congrats on the classes!!!! I have found that I get a much bigger turn out in my mini album classes than the LO or altered! HOWEVER… Think GRADUATION!!!! Maybe an altered frame would be a good one!

  28. Darleen Says:

congratulations!! That is awesome news and you will definitely enjoy it!

  29. cassie Says:

as a cardmaker who *hates* to scrapbook - I’d say a layout class would be my pick!

  30. Daphne Says:

Congratulations on your 500th post and your new gig as a teacher at the LSS…those are some lucky women to have you on-board!

As far as classes go, mini-album classes seem to be really big here! Can’t wait to see what you do for these girls…another big Kudos to ya!!!

  31. Kim Says:

    Congrats! That is awesome!
I definitely prefer mini-albums and card-making when it comes to classes!
    Good luck!

  32. Michelle Says:

CONGRATS GIRL! You are going to rock their mississippi butts!!!

  33. Julie Marie Says:

    Congrats on 500!! I love mini-albums

  34. Sharla Says:

Hey Shanna, Congratulations!!! That is awesome, I also have a really cool LSS close to me. I have yet to take a class, but if I did I would want to do a mini album or something altered!!!

  35. Peggy Johnson Says:

CONGRATS, Shanna! I wish I could take some classes from you! You make the most wonderful cards…that would be a great class! A mini-album would be a lot of fun, too! GOOD LUCK!!

  36. Kristen Says:

Congratulations Shanna! 500 is a big accomplishment! I couldn’t keep up with my blog. I think I did 3 entries and gave up . . . LOL . . . Anyways, I think a mini-album class would be fun. I would love to see what you could do with a disney mini-album. I would love to see that! :)

  37. April Hall Says:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Not only on the 500 posts, but on getting to teach some classes!!! Boy, I wish I lived close enough to take some from ya! I really enjoy taking mini album classes, so that is something I enjoy over and over again! WOO HOO!

  38. Gilda Says:

I love taking classes if it’s either a mini album or an altered stuff. I like the mini album because you get some kind of feeling of accomplishment when you’re done with it. I like the altered stuff because it is something you might be able to use or display later on and enjoy. I also like the mini albums where I learn a new technique that I can re-use again in other projects later on.

Congrats on your 500th post and for getting a teaching job!

  39. AZAnjanette Says:

So glad you found a spot to get a ‘fix’! LOL
How cool that you’ll be teaching…I wish I could sign up for a class but with airfare, that would be quite an expensive class LOL ;)

Well, I know what you mean about SBE in Mesa. It’s my fav. place too. Nothing beats it. I have taken many classes there and my favorites are always double page classes where everything is all ‘kitted’ up (no cutting, just get out the glue stick and go to town!). Those are some of my favorite pieces in my scrapbooks and people always say how ‘crafty’ I am (hehehe if they only knew).

  40. Suz Says:

Congrats! I love to take card classes since they are quicker, you get 4-6 in one class and the best ones incorporate new techniques that you can easily apply to scrapbooking.

  41. Anna Says:

Congrats, teacher! lol (jus had to throw that one in there!) Them there folks are some lucky ones! =P So, I guess the type of class is any kind that has the latest product in use, whether it be tool or product or embellishment. Something to inspire me and my wallet! hehehehe Good luck on the class. Now I am off to check out your other blog!

  42. Teresa Says:

Shanna your Altered stuff Rocks! I would teach those for sure I KNOW you will get alot of students!!
    Congrats on both!

  43. Zarah Says:

Since I’m in Sweden I am staying out of the drawing, but I’ll answer the question! I’d prefer altered items (but they have to be useful, not the kind that slips into a drawer and gets forgotten), then minialbums, then sets of cards and then LOs.

Hope you’re doing well - we miss you around the Nook!

    *hugs*

  44. Maria from Norway Says:

Classes wit altered stuff is the coolest!! ;-)

  45. Linda Says:

Wowwww, congratulations! That is fantastic. For scrap classes, I personally prefer mini albums and why not alterable items. Just my opinion! Congrats again, Linda

  46. Margee' Says:

Wow! Shanna! You’re adding more to your life?
    Congrats!

  47. Marie Says:

I love classes on cards. I don’t scrapbook that many pages, but I do make a lot of cards, and I am always looking for new ideas for cards, especially ones that I can mass produce! So card classes are my fav! Count me in on your giveaway.

  48. Ami D. Says:

I would love to take classes that make mini albums. I love the concept, but am always challenged to make new ones. AND I would love to try an acrylic album. AND I would love to take a card class, or 2!!!!

  49. Meghan E Says:

Congrats on the teaching gig! I would like to take layout classes and mini-album classes.

  50. Kaneshia Says:

Congrats on the new job! I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself. I’d prefer to take classes on creating mini albums or cards. I’m always trying to keep my stash of cards built up and taking a class is a great way to do that and learn new techniques and get fresh ideas. I just completed my very first mini album and became completely hooked!

  51. Misty K in Ohio Says:

I have been into altered projects lately, so those are the ones I would be taking. I would also be into a mini album class. I love your blog by the way!! :)

  52. Darcey Says:

Congratulations on the new opportunity!! Best of luck! At my favorite lss, they have a sketch club and I love it. There is two 12×12 double layout sketches per month. When you sign up they send you the sketch in the mail, that way you are able to get your photos and/or paper together to take with you. That is the class that I perfer.

  53. Jeanae Croxton Says:

Congrats to you! I would love to take a class on stamping techniques to incorporate into my pages! I am only about 1 1/2 hours away, so who knows, maybe I will drive up and take one of your classes!

  54. Lisa G. Says:

Wow, how cool is it that a fun “job” fell right into your lap?? I would say it was meant to be :) I’m a loyal follower of your blog, and I love reading your posts about your family and crafty projects! You are truly a source of inspiration!!
I agree, I think a class that incorporates stamping on layouts would be useful, or incorporating bling and flowers onto boy pages (LOL)

  55. Colleen Says:

Congrats on the success of your blog! For me, I like taking all kinds of classes though I tend to take technique based classes where I’m trying or working with something new to me - could be products or techniques!!

  56. Dianne Says:

Wow!!!! that is absolutly wonderful news.
I love doing classes using new products and new techniques, but you are so good at all different types of things you will also be doing card classes I am sure. I also received some wonderful news today, will drop u a quick email.
    Hugs
    Dianne

  57. Susan M Says:

I recently took an acrylic album class and loved it! It’s so “in” right now and I didn’t have a clue. Whatever you teach, I agree with the above poster, I like everything precut and ready to go. Having additional embellishments on hand is nice too.

  58. Tamera Says:

Congrats on the new teaching position. I love technique classes. I also would love a class on new ways to use old products.

  59. Martha Says:

Congratulations Shanna! That’s so cool! I’d just like to take a “Shanna” class - what kind doesn’t really matter. I’m always looking for something to make as gifts so if you had a class on something altered, or a small book that I could make to give to someone I’d be interested in taking that class. Your cards are awesome too - tha

  60. bev Says:

It is truly a small, small world. My scrappin buds and I go to several different events around Louisiana and Scrappin Divas was at Scrapfest (Mandeville) in February and will probably be there in September (they do 2 events). Does that mean you might teach classes for them at these events?

  61. Reina Says:

I like layouts. I like one that you can use and reuse and make them look diffrent everytime. Does that make sense? I love finding new stores with fun stuff. I’m so glad you are loving your new home.

  62. liz Says:

    any of your layouts…..
    Cards probably…
    Actually anything you do..
    Altered letters are super cute…
Your rock girl no matter what.

  63. Dawn Says:

Congrats on 500 posts and a new outlet to be creative and meet new friends. What an awesome combination!!!!

My favorite classes are basic beginner classes for folks who need to catch the Scrappy/Card bug ;)

However, no matter what you teach.. I know they’ll love it and be hooked (if they aren’t already)!

  64. Dayna Says:

I love classes that focus on layouts. I enjoy enjoy technique classes so that I can learn something new to take home with me.

  65. christal bevans Says:

Wow congrats on your 500th post so awesome!! I’m so excited for you in teaching new classes I love card classes!! Because I always need a card on hard for somebody!! I love your blog you are so real and so fun!! ttyl

  66. Kris Says:

Congrats on the teaching job - wish I could find one - that pays anyway. I do a monthly class at my church. Everyone seems to like the mini albums. I’ve done cards also, but that’s not as big a draw, and layouts - not so much. Good luck with the classes.

  67. jennie cambarare Says:

Congrats, and what fun you will have. Those scrappers are in for a treat having you teach, i love your work.
For classes i think the mini books or altered projects are a plus.
    Jennie

  68. kaelene zapata Says:

How cool for you! I’m excited to see what you come up with!
How ’bout some altered home decor, for BOYS???
And of course your darling cards would make a cute class, too!

  69. Beth Warren Says:

    Congrats!

I prefer layout and/or mini album classes. And I prefer classes that use standard size photos, esp 4 by 6 or 5 by 7…not the crazy 2 by 4 or 6 by 6 or other sizes that you can’t get if you print at Shop Rite or Walmart. I’d also love to see classes that aren’t just focused on layouts of children…some of us are young single students or professionals, so we only can do LOs about ourselves, or parents/siblings or pets. I often see great projects, but the focus is baby or kids, so I can’t take it. Congrats!

  70. Laura Warren Says:

Congratulations. I prefer mini albums or layouts…but prefer things that don’t have themes, such as children..I prefer things that are based on brands, like Maya Road chipboard albums, Basic Grey paper, etc. Congrats again!

  71. Laura Says:

Congrats on the ‘job’. Though I’m not surprised, you are a talented lady.
I like mini-album classes. You can do a lot in a`short time and it’s not something I would scrap at home.

  72. Casey Lu Says:

Congrats, on your 500th entry! Can you believe that I have lived in AZ my entire life and have never been down to Scrapbook, ect. I really need to get down there and see what it is all about. Congrats also on getting to teach some classes! I sure miss doing that for Ms. Ginger! You will do great at it! You always make cute projects and great layouts so anything you make will be great! I think the best classes would be Mini Albums and then Altered items. Right now it is really big to do homemade home decor and you would be especially great at that!!! Cards would be good too but definitely think the Mini’s and altered items. Thanks so much for the rak you sent last. I appreciate it and you don’t have to count me on this one. I just wanted to say Hi, Thanks, and give ya my feedback on your question. I hope you have tons of fun in your classes!!! Way to go!

  73. Lacey Says:

I love taking classes on altered projects, cards, mini albums, and calendars!! So fun!
Congrats on both your 500th entry and your new job! We miss you here in Az. Love scrapbooks etc. I’ll spend some extra money there just for you!

  74. Narda Says:

I say congrats to the lss for finding you! lol They are the lucky ones, you rock! I like to take classes that are mini albums, so I feel that I have something done to show for my time & $$. There’s plenty of great topics in time for summer; Father’s Day, Graduation, Summer Vacation could be themed like beach, fair, picnics, or camping, 4th of July, etc. have fun and be sure to share what you decide on.

  75. Karen Says:

I liked the 2 mini album classes I took. Each had a different technique that was used. I also liked them because I started the books in class, they were very cool, and I was really motivated to finish them at home. When I was done I felt as though I had accomplished a lot more than just a layout or some cards from a class. I would also take a calendar class in a heartbeat - I’ve always wanted to do a scrapbook calendar, but I always do them last minute (grandparents) and end up doing them on kodak or shutterfly because it is faster.
    Karen

  76. Kathy A Says:

I love mini-album classes. In fact, I took a class that you taught in Edmond,OK at Just4Keeps. We did a Christmas mini-album. It sits in a basket on my cocktail table. I treasure it. Congrats on your new job, your new precious baby boy, and your new life in MS.
    Kathy

  77. Tracey Says:

My favorite type of classes would be mini albums. I also like ones for cards too.

Actually, I would take any class that you were teaching. You’re soooo creative and I love your work.

    Tracey

  78. Jenny Shumway Says:

Okay Shanna - I’m like to 78th person to comment so I seriously doubt that I’ll win - but here goes. I love layout classes - the kind where you get at least 2 and hopefully 4 pages done during the class. That way, my pages are done and super cute and I just have to add pictures. I also like learning the newest techniques and seeing what’s out there as far as new supplies go. Hope you’re doing well - it’s stinkin’ hot here already!!

  79. Michelle Says:

I definitely prefer to take mini album classes. with layouts you have to really be able to use a specific type of page, with a mini album it can be used as a gift if you can’t use it yourself.

  80. Amy W. Says:

so glad you found a cool spot to shop AND that they want you to teach…yahoooo! i love mini albums and maybe something altered (encourage the green affect by recycling something, that would be cool). good luck and can’t wait to hear more! :)

  81. Jannell Says:

Way to go you! I just love all the crazy cool projects you create. I really love classes where we make an altered item or learn new techniques. Looking forward to the next post. :)

  82. ~Kim Says:

    Shanna,

Congratulations on your 500th post….that’s quite an accomplishment in itself. Congratulations too on your new scrappy job!! Those girls are in for a real treat! As for classes, I like mini-albums and cards. I feel like that is something that can be accomplished and satisfying. Layouts are too hard to please everyone’s taste….you could make a spot for a 4 x6 photo, but so many people use different sizes of pictures and scrap different sizes.

I think cards because they could make several in a class period and feel like they are getting more for their money! : )

Can’t wait to see what you come up with….and you can just go ahead and address that giveaway to me! : )

    ~Kim

  83. Gina H Says:

WOO HOO Shanna . . . WTG!!! Let’s see . . . I think altered projects and mini-albums is something I’d be more apt to take a class on . . . but with you as the teacher I’m sure whatever you come up with would be AWESOME! :) Congrats!!!

  84. lisa Says:

i think that is so cool. you will be awesome of course. i like layout classes, mini books are my fave though! and cards too.

  85. keri p Says:

Hey Shanna congrats on many things, moving, baby, teaching, etc. etc. Glad your being blessed!

I am into fun little projects at the moment, haven’t done a “normal” layout in months…. so I would have to say either mini albums or altered projects… Good luck with that!

  86. Brandi Says:

Hi, I love your blog I read it almost everyday.
My favorite type of class would be layout type classes using new techniques. And the simplier the layout the better. In the past I have loved your page kits. So something along those lines.

  87. Emma O. Says:

Congratulations! I love your cards…so I’d probably request a card workshop with techniques.

  88. Creatable-becky Says:

Congratulations on the new job and on your 500th post! You totally inspire me, if you can have 500 posts, I can get my blog up and running, right?!
    So keep on posting!

  89. Ami D. Says:

I would love to see mini albums!

  90. Linda Says:

I have never taken a class, but would love to!

  91. Jennifer H Says:

Congrats on getting to teach some classes! That will be so much fun. I LOOOVE taking classes. I especially love mini-albums and altered stuff. But new/interesting technique classes are a blast too. Have fun!!

  92. Ilissa H. Says:

I really haven’t taken any formal classes yet because I just find it difficult to find ones in my area or find the time. Often I’ll get together with friends and we bounce ideas off eachother and share new techniques that we’ve found.

  93. Cathy Says:

That is wonderful! I am sure that they will be so happy to have you teaching at their store. I only wish I lived closer so that I could take one of your classes. Which leads me to wonder if you could teach online classes as well? I know some people sell class registrations through etsy. I would be the first to sign up to take a class, and actually pay you for your knowledge and artistic ability. You are my kind of scrapper, to be sure. Hmmm…are you thinking it over? I hope so!!
    Cathy B :)

  94. Stella crupko Says:

I prefer taking classes that have a gimmic. Like a altered project or mini album with a new idea that I haven’t seen before. I know that if vague, but it is really what I look for. I also like any classes that will make a gift for someone. That way I have scrappy fun and a gift to give someone at the end.

  95. Michlee Says:

Congrats on the new job! That is so awesome to be able to teach something you enjoy.

I would love to take a card or altered item class. I wish your LSS was near me, I would definitely sign up for one of your classes!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

    xoxo,
    Michele

  96. Terry Says:

What a great way to get to know people. They will love your work. I think mini album classes seem to go over really well.

  97. Becky T Says:

Shanna, that is GREAT news!! I’m so happy for you to have found a great store, and to have the opportunity to meet a bunch of scrappers. Neither have happened for me since moving South. :( So excited for you, though!!

And as for classes….I love album/mini album type classes. Going home with a somewhat finished album is awesome.

Oh yeah…and I was totally thinking of you the other day when we were at the aquarium in New Orleans and some nice chatty lady started chatting with me and mentioned that they were at the aquarium that day because her son and his kids were visiting her (in New Orleans) from Madison, Mississippi! Well, I’ll be darned…I told her I knew someone who had just moved there. LOL And she went on and on about how awesome Madison is–great place for families and such. So…I hope you’re feeling the same way. I think about you lots! :)

  98. jen Says:

definitely a themed mini album. Love to make those and use as gifts to extended family members. And congrats on getting to teach!! ‘How cool is that’, is right.

Hey Shanna! I am a fan of altered projects and layouts. That is awesome that you will be teaching classes there! Love ya, Teresa

I like classes that are layouts or cards! i love going home with completed projects. I really do like mini albums but if I am going to take a mini album class, I want to go home with a completed project. Have I sadi that enough-LOL? I don’t want to add anything else to my “Needs to be completed” pile! Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

My vote is for layouts & cards. While I do love mini albums, I have found(thru teaching myslef & taking classes)that those tend to not get completed in class. I want to go home with finished projects & not items that get added to the “needs to be finished” pile! Just my 2 cents! Good luck!

I’m an alterd project and mini book fan. I haven’t ever taken a class for layouts but usually take one or more classes a month for mini books and/or altered projects.

I love mini books and would take a class in that almost any time. Cards are a great choice too.

I usually prefer layout classes cause its a win win for me - Iget to get caught up on a few layouts and I get some grown up time…
