Wedded Bliss

Just thought I would pop in here and say we are all still alive over here! It’s been slightly crazy this week to say the least! Shane’s girls are here for the Christmas break so we have had some fun with them. I cooked a big turkey dinner on Tuesday night for 14 people. Shane’s family came over and we ate and exchanged gifts. It was a good thing. Yes….at times…I am a total Martha wannabe. However, with watching 10 kids all day, not including my own, and having to have a huge meal prepared by 630pm it was everything short of perfection by Martha’s standards I am sure. But ya know what? It was perfection by Shane’s standards, complete with gloriously white paper dining products. I thought about bringing out the pretty Christmas China. Thought about it. Right up until 615pm when I realized there was already a small Mt Everest of dishes piling up in my kitchen sink from all the cooking. Shane thanked me 100 times I swear. He is sweet. All I need is a little appreciation and I am happy. It goes a LONG way. I did get to use my new cookwear set I got from Maddy & Kerry as a bridal gift!! Thanks again girls! It was lovely! It was a refreshing change from my mis-matched-find-what-I-can-10yr old-Walmart junk. I felt like Martha for just a few short moments.

My girls left for Utah with their Dad yesterday. They will be gone until Monday night. I miss them already. It stinks they don’t get to spend more time with their new sisters. While I am thinking about it…..I have to tell you something Bailee said earlier this week that was hilarious!!! So…..I am getting dressed, top off, in my room and Bailee comes in to talk to me about something….can’t remember now. A few seconds pass and she gasps as she quickly runs to close my bedroom door saying, “Mom, Shane is here…..he will see you!” Well, of course I giggle a bit and explain to her that Mommy and Shane are married now so we can get undressed in front of each other. Bailee then makes the funniest face I have ever seen (wish I had a photo) and says, “Oooooooooh…..that’s kinda gross!!” It was priceless. I totally snorted out loud. I love her. I love her innocence. I hope it lasts forever. I hope she is 25 years old before boys aren’t “gross” anymore. I know I am dreaming but as a Mother of now 5 daughters……I do dream. I want and need their innocence to stick around for a while….a long while!

Okay. So. I haven’t gotten a lick of scrapping done like I have NEEDED to. I have another BoBunny deadline looming and the new QuicKutz Revolution with the new fonts and dies is scheduled to arrive on my doorstep tomorrow! Who knows what the assignments for that will be. I am excited to play with the new goods! What a way to head out of 2006 with QK!!!! It’s been fun and stressful and rewarding! I have some new scrappy friends in my life I would not have met otherwise! They are an amazing group of women!

Anyway…….lookie where Shane and I and Kacie & Karlie are headed tomorrow night! ———> CLICK HERE

Yes! We are hittin the road and headin outta town! Shane hasn’t been since he was 8yrs old and his girls have NEVER been! My girls and I just went 5 months ago so I don’t feel horribly guilty for going without them. We thought it would be an awesome Christmas gift for Kacie & Karlie since they can’t haul a bunch of presents back to MS on a plane! It’s going to be a quick trip. D-Land all day on Saturday and then maybe the beach for a few on Sunday morning before heading home. Shane has to get up early Monday to fly home with the girls and be back late that night to get to work on Tuesday. Crazy but worth it!

Okay…..enough blogging for me. It’s naptime here and I need to get some scrappin’ done! Peace!

I nearly snorted at that comment, and I am not a snorter! Now to keep them trained at keeping the door closed, so when they come in and leave with their friends, you aren’t getting dressed with the friends watching!

I can’t wait to see the Disneyland pictures. Gosh, you and Shane hadn’t even met in real live person yet when you took your girls :)Or did you?
    Enjoy!

congratulations on all your life changes. While reading, I was shocked to see “Kacie”……….my sister’s name is Kacie and I don’t think I have ever seen it spelled like that before.
