The Emperor’s New Clothes

Yay! It finally came! Bailee has been practicing for this school play pretty much all year and the performance was yesterday! Is is silly that I almost cried??? I was just so dang proud of her. It’s truly strange and bizarre watching your children go from little toddlers to little women. She hasn’t stopped talking about it since the day they announced it would happen. She was a peasant girl…..a REALLY cute one if I do say so myself. I had a friend sew her costume for me! Thanks so much Jolene!!! It was the cutest play ever! Funny and entertaining. Everyone did such a great job…….Bailee was the best! Of course! I think she is kinda sad today that it’s over. Kinda like when the last episode of FRIENDS was aired. What will she do with herself now? LOL I am so proud of you Bailee! Great job!

On another note…..I AM SOOOOOO STOKED to be playin’ volleyball again. It’s been way too long! I practiced last night with my team who I’ll be playing in a 4’s sand league with over at Gene Autry Sports Complex here in Mesa. I was surprised at how quickly I actually moved around in the sand considering how out of practice I was. We will have games every Tuesday and get practices in when we can! YAY!!!!! Speaking of Volleyball…..there is another AVP tournament coming up in a few weeks at Hermosa Beach. I AM GOING AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!! This will be my 4th consecutive year going to that tourney! I must love it eh? My sis Hillary, Bro Casey (who is waiting on his Mission call for our church) and our cousin Tanner are all coming out with me! I got a room just a mile from the beach! YEEEE HAAAW!!!!

Okay….off to create…..I have another QuicKutz deadline the end of this week! YIKES!

It is hard not to CRY when your kids do anything more than dress themselves. She looks adorable. Have fun at the sand touney, good thing your family will be going with you to keep you in CHECK, I know you’re a CRAZY GIRL!

Ahh. you should be proud Mommy! Thats awesome.

She would need several large and PHYSICALLY IMPRESSIVE men to keep her from trouble!

how fun is that? Whom played the emperor? Was he nude? HA I want to play volleyball–if I don’t have to hit anything or serve anything or move around much. Can I just sit and watch and drink something cold? Every 10 minutes or so I will stand up and shout “Shanna–you rock!”

Bailee looks beautiful! sniff…it is so happy/sad when they start to grow up. Yesterday dd brought home smashed in the bottom of her backpack a paper the kindergarten teacher did that said “look how much I grew this year” and had a photo from the first day (when she looked neat and clean and had her hair combed) and a picture taken the day before (where she was wearing what she wanted to wear and she did her hair by herself and looked like an orphan).
We should scrap these moments of reflection on their growth so when they are older and we have those days when the only thing you can find to complement them on is “you breathe so very nice. Look! You just did it again, you inhaled and exhaled without being reminded. Such nice even breaths. I am so proud of you”.
