Well….. this card is my last offical Bo Bunny Blog contribution! Julia assigned us to create some “shaped” cards for today’s post. I love shaped cards! I love having to get extra creative and think outside the box. I thought a “Thank You” card would be most appropriate! I am grateful for the fun opportunity I’ve had while designing for Bo Bunny through the blogging avenue! Now it’s time to focus on the other designing options that they’ve blessed me with! AS if all those new releases for Summer weren’t enough…. wait until you see what’s up their sleeves next! I shrieked with JOY when I saw it!!!! Man! I so wish I could spill the beans! Hee! Hee!
Anyhoo….. You know I love sharing my patterns when I create new shapes! So here’s the pattern for this card.
To add the brown shading I used my favorite chalk ink of all time from Versa Magic called Jumbo Java. I use this A LOT on my projects. All I did was rubbed the edge of the ink pad all around the edges of the yellow hive. Not too hard… don’t want it dark or harsh looking. Then I used some brown chalk to shade the sections of the hive all the way across the card. I’ve had a couple people email me and ask what I use to get the edges of my cards brown…. there ya go! Then of course a little linework for details!
Before I forget…. THANKS SO MUCH for your well wishes this week while I’ve been under the weather! I am feeling MUCH better after several days with some meds in me. Not quite 100% yet but feeling A LOT better than I did earlier this week! I hope everyone has a great weekend! Renee is coming over tonight and we are going to scrap… work on some cards! Looking forward to it!
And one more thing! I haven’t shared any of my YW’s handouts here on this blog for a bit. But this one I made to go along with Lesson #33 turned out supafun & cute so I wanted to post it! And also share the link again to Paper Cakes & Icing which is a blog I set up JUST to post my handouts and Ideas that go along with the Young Women’s lessons at church. Some of them can be used in many ways for different things so you don’t have to think just “church” when you see them! The details about this handout are shared there as well!
