Sooooo…..this little magical Hello Kitty alarm clock has changed life in the mornings for the Lamb girls as we KNEW it. Let me describe my oldest child Bailee for you in the mornings PRE-KITTY. First things first…..she is a 7 year old teenager. When I would try and wake her up it was like Dawn of the Dead. No matter how loud I would talk or how roughly I would shake her…….NOTHING. Now, I KNOW she would HEAR me & FEEL me but she would just ignore me. “Let’s pretend I don’t hear or feel mom shaking me and she just might go away!” Well I would….for a minute. And this little routine would go on every minute for seriously 10 or 15 mins!!! THEN……..as if that’s not enough…..because I MADE HER get out of bed…..the entire household would feel the WRATH of Bailee Jean until she got on the bus. GROUCHY, WHINEY, MOODY, IMPOSSIBLE, DISAGREEABLE, TEARS FOR NO REASON AT TIMES. There was nothing that anyone in the house could do right. And for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to deal with her. I wanted my happy girl back. THEN….one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. THE MOTHER’S CURSE!!!! It was cast many, many years ago by my very own mother!!! “I hope you have a child just like you someday!” This is Bailee to the core. Just like me. Stubborn, Independent, opinionated, moody, hates mornings, yada, yada, yada. It was then that I realized I was going about the whole morning routine all WRONG!!! She is a BIG 7 years old now. It was then that I ventured off to Target (where else?) and found this cute lil’ alarm clock. What a WORLD of difference it makes when she has her very own alarm clock!!! Then when it goes off in the morning she CHOOSES all by herself to get out of bed and get ready for school. She isn’t being FORCED out by a “nagging” Mom!!!! She still has her “independence” & I get to stay sane.
Not only that…..her and Macey have magically started carrying out the whole morning routine without me having to ask (nag) them!!!! They know what they have to do next and they just do it!!! I have my HAPPY girl back…YAY!!! Kids don’t come with directions or instructions. A lot of things are “learn as you go” especially since every child is different. But I have to tell you that for once…hearing my mother’s curse playback in my mind turned out to be a blessing! Thanks MOM!!!

GIRL! You should have said something! hahaha I’m lazy, so I found out about the magic of letting the kids get ready on their own long ago. IT’S LIKE MAGIC!!!
Seriously, Noah could get totally ready and out the door if he had too. But I still make his lunch for him
Glad your mornings are smooth!!!! YAY!

cute cute clock!!!!!!! We have a Cinderella one at our house that drives me BONKERS! It speaks! “Oh, hello. My name is Cinderella. . .” Blah blah blah. It says the world’s LAMEST things. “And you’ll never guessed what happened! The Prince himself asked me to dance.” “Why that night we even fell in love.” “Dreams really do come true.” BARF!
Glad you found a cute clock that your girls love and things are smooth sailing in the morning!
