My friend Janet sent me something like this today and I loved it so much I wanted to share! With Thanksgiving tomorrow, it’s awesome knowing that people all around this Nation will stop for a few moments in their otherwise busy lives and just reflect on the things they are grateful for. You already know I am most grateful for being a Mom to those 3 lil’ beauties I have been blessed with! But there is soooooo much more! I hope you enjoy this! I loved the photos that were sent in this email as well!!!
Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you’ve had a baby .
Somebody doesn’t know that once you’re a mother, “Normal,” is history.
Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct .. Somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.
Somebody said being a mother is boring ……
Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver’s permit.
Somebody said if you’re a “good” mother, your child will “turn out good.”
Somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.
Somebody said you don’t need an education to be a mother.
Somebody never helped a fourth grader with her math.
Somebody said you can’t love the fifth child as much as you love the first.
Somebody doesn’t have five children.
Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books ……..
Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery …
Somebody never watched her “baby” get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.
One more thing I wanted to share that is appropriate for this week is an LDS Gem I got last week. I subscribe to this feature so I get these little thoughts of daily inspiration in my inbox…….they are always exactly what I am needing to hear and my days are so enriched by them. This one is by Ezra Taft Benson:
“We need to be more grateful. I think there’s no true character without gratitude. It’s one of the marks of a real strong character, to have a feeling of thanksgiving and gratitude for blessings that are ours. We need more of that spirit in our homes, in our daily associations, in church, everywhere. It doesn’t cost anything. It’s so easy to cultivate the spirit of appreciation and gratitude. And it’s so easy, also, to be dissatisfied and to be envious of other people.”
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! ![]()

So true! It’s so easy to cultivate the spirit of appreciation and gratitude. It only take a moment most of the time, just to give thanks..often we just overlook the moment. Have a great Thanksgiving with your 3 little beauties Shanna!
