Can my life just be drama-free for one week? Seriously!!! This weekend was not about me though. Tragedy has struck my ex-husband’s family. It’s absolutely HORRIBLE. I was married to him for 10 years so they are still MY family and this has been very difficult to come to grips with. Our Aunt Jan who is 45 years old and in perfect health had a brain anneurism and died instantly. The crazy thing is she had been divorced for a couple years after being in a marriage for over 20years that was terrible. She finally met the man of her dreams and was getting re-married in just a few short weeks. She was at the hospital with her fiance because his very first grandbaby was born on Friday so they were visiting his family. As they left the hospital to go home Jan just collapsed in the parking lot. They took her back in the hospital and were able to recessitate her long enough to get her 17 and 19 year old sons there and the rest of her family to say good-bye. Life is absolutely unpredictable. You never know when it will be your turn to go. I try and live like every day will be my last. I don’t want regrets. The funeral is on Wednesday. CRAZY!!! I am still in shock.
I had this Halloween party on Saturday night (I posted a few pics below) and part of me wanted to cancel but there was no way to get ahold of everyone. It was fun and everyone had a blast but I am sooooo sorry for Tom and his mom losing her sister and the whole thing is terrible. What a sad, sad thing. Jan babysat my girls for me just a few weeks ago and now we will never see her again.
Please keep Tom’s family in your prayers. Thanks guys!

Shanna, this is Becky (mom2tyler) from CX and I lurk here occasionally and just happened to come on today and read your blog. I just wanted to say that I am SO sorry to hear about what happened to your aunt. That is so terribly sad, I can’t imagine what her family is going through right now. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
