Sharing my newly organized Acrylic Stamp storage

acrylicstampstorage1 I can’t tell you how excited I am to have this project completed! Until today my acrylic stamps were just thrown into a basket that I rarely used! I can’t remember for the life of me what Scrapping mag I found this idea in….I think it was Scrapbooks Etc. but this is JUST WHAT I NEEDED! I hope I can explain how to put it together well enough but hopefully the photos will help! Feel free to email me if you have any questions. ShannaVineyard@cox.net Here are the photos and how I created this….pretty easy stuff really! I am LOVING it already! acrylicstampstorage2acrylicstampstorage4 1acrylicstampstorage3 1 All I did was found a good sized photo storage box that was really sturdy. Got it at Target of course. The measurements are actually 8×7x12inches. I made themed dividers based on what kind of stamps I have. You can see this in the first photo. I covered chipboard with some different brightly colored papers and used my QK Revolution tab die to create the tabs. Good stuff. THEN…..I covered more chipboard with white cardstock and stamped an image of each of my stamps in black ink. After I had a card filled with images…..then I covered it with clear contact paper so that the stamps will stick to the card. If you don’t have enough stamps to cover a card you may want to just keep them loose in that filed section until you do. I found out it is pretty difficult to pull the contact paper up and add more images once I already smoothed it out. Make sense? With my Alpha sets from Autumn Leaves and Close to My Heart I just kept them in their own packaging because the size was a perfect fit to go right in the file. You can see that in one of the photos as well. I have my clear blocks in a tin bucket behind the cards for right now until my collection grows. I am super excited about this. I would love to hear if anyone else tries this too…..share some photos!

So whaddya think???? Purdy cool eh????

I totally love this! I have mine in binders now and it’s not totally working…might have to try this! LOVE the idea of covering the chipboard in contact paper! How smart is that?!?!?!?

i linked here from your thread on twopeas. this is AWESOME. i can’t even imagine how much TIME it took, but to have them all in one place… now THAT’s impressive. i love the file sections you made, too. so cute with your QK tab! and using contact paper… genius. sheer (pun intended!) genius!

This is an AWESOME idea Shanna! Thanks so much for sharing and giving such detailed descriptions. Is the contact paper sticky to stick to the chipboard? and where do you get it? THanks again. Carolyn

Love this idea, just fantastic! I may have to try this myself - my current system works well for the big sheets of stamps, but not necessarily the smaller sizes. Thanks for the inspiration. I really enjoy your blog, I will be sure to visit again.

  10. Sharla Says:

Well, since I have NO system for my acrylic stamps, guess I’ll have to “lift” your idea!!! So cool….thanks for sharing!!

  11. Amie Says:

very nicely done! I always forget to use mine because I don’t see them where they are stored.

  12. Sarah Says:

Looks great! :) I don’t have a lot of stamps so mine are currently in clear CD cases, but I can see how easily those could be tossed into one of these boxes. Definitely filing for future reference. tfs!

  13. Nicole Boulier Says:

  15. Shelley Moore Says:

Shanna, I just LOVE this! I have so many odd ball acrylic stamps, and I have tried a bazillion other storage methods. None of them qork quite effectively enough…

But I really really like this one!

Any ideas for making it more portable?

  16. identicaltriplets Says:

Awesome Shanna! Love it!!! I have that die too. May need to use it for something like this. :)

  17. Krystyn Says:

How funny! I saw the same idea in Scrapbooks Etc and did the exact same thing!! I think I even have the same box - it’s from Target. I love my new stamp organization system now - before there was NO system.

thanks for sharing. such a great idea.

  22. lynn whelan Says:

i love this idea. had one of those boxes in my hand at walmart the other day, but it had no price so i put it back. i guess you could use stazon ink and stamp directly on the contact stuff too. i’m definitely going for this idea. thanks for sharing!!!

  23. Kathy Says:

    What a GREAT idea!

You could probably use the Staz-On ink to stamp on top of the clear contact paper so that you can continue to add stamps to the different cards. Staz-On is made for non porous surfaces so it should work perfectly for that.

Now, I just need to figure out where to go with those HUGE Fancy Pants acrylic stamp sets. LOL

  24. Jules Says:

I love this idea, all of mine are in a big Wal-mart bag. I have to do this. Thanks for the great idea!

  25. Melanie Corral Says:

this is fantastic. right now i have technique tues in a 3 ring binder with those clear plastic sleeves, i just slide the sheets ito each one, but I love this idea for all my smaller stamps.

  26. elizabeth wickland Says:

I am in the process of doing this with my acrylic and unmounted (and I am unmounting my mounteds for this purpose!) stamps — thank you for the inspiration!! Yours is SO cute! I’m pretty sure mine won’t be, as I’m trying to work through hundreds of stamps and trying to get it done sooner rather than later!! I used to keep them in a 3 ring binder until I outgrew it… and you provided a PERFECT solution! Thank you!!

I have done the same thing except I used clear 4×6 Photo laminating sheets (Scotch Brand). I mostly have the small $1 stamps from Micheals and Joanns. These stamps come with a clear backer sheet that has the stamp images printed on it. I place the clear backer sheet in between the sticky laminating sheets. I can get several of these on one 4×6 sheet(sometimes I have to trim them). The stamps cling the the front of the laminating sheet. I place these in a box with the stamps facing away from me, so I can read the image noramlly (through the clear sheet)instead of backwards (I can’t read backwards). This works well for me.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I started scrapbooking two years ago with the birth of my son and wanted to get back into it with my new acrylic stamps! I wanted a nifty way to organize them and this worked out great! THANK YOU!

  32. Michael S. Bizup Says:

Great Idea! I too have many acrylic stamps now and tried the Binder thing, but not liking it very much. I definitely will try this! Thanks!

  33. jeani Says:

I kept looking at the pile of clear stamps on my work table and thinking what to do??? I decided to Google “storage” and there you were. Great idea, and pretty simple too.
The only thing I would add is an “index”. To do this you could stamp all the images for a specific section (or simply scan the stamps themselves)and then reduce them. Once reduced they could be attached to the divider or behind it. As more stamps are acquired additional index sheets could be added. Sometimes I have stamps that could be stored in multiple categories, so having an index just makes it easier to locate them. stamp it twice if need by and indicate which division it’s actually in.
Thanks so much for recreating and sharing this.
