Settling In, baby news & check out this AWESOME new Sketch blog!!!

CrackShack So here it is…..

HOME SWEET HOME

How do you like it? It’s a little smaller than I am used to but it will bring our family closer right?

And do you dig my snazzy little bird bath? I thought that added some perfect Southern charm to our new place. I’m gonna have a hard time finding a spot to scrap in here but I will manage. Who wants to help me pick out some new window treatments?

HEE HEE………..

Okay…..”Everyone’s got jokes”…I can’t even count the number of times I have heard that phrase come out of Shane’s mouth since we started telling friends and family we were moving out here. I even get in on the fun sometimes. I can’t help it. Sometimes I am still in denial I am here. I lived in Arizona ALL MY LIFE minus a year in Vegas and a year in SoCal. But I have to admit….I LOVE IT HERE so far. Really. And the girls are loving it too. They are loving their new schools and teachers. It’s taking a little while to hear past the Southern drawls and completely understand what people are saying but it’s getting easier with each passing day. Shane keeps telling me I am using the word “Ya’ll” a lot more frequently too. Whatever! HA HA!

MadisonWaterTowerAnyway, we made it here safely…even through some serious storms across Texas and what seemed like a hundred potty breaks (me….not the kids) along the way. The house is pretty much unpacked except for some home decor stuff and of course my scrappy space. Which, by the way, will NOT be in that shed pictured above that we lovingly refer to as the “crack shack”. I will have one side of our dining area which is huge in the house! MY own scrap table and everything! YAY! So…..I haven’t gotten out to take many photos of our new hometown yet but I will soon. Until then….here’s something you don’t see in the big cities. The All-American water tower with the town’s name on it. Doesn’t it just scream “small town”?? Love it!

We had some interesting developments with baby Brody today. Shane and I went to my second appointment with the new Doc and they did another ultra-sound just to check things out and see how accurate my due date is/was. Well….I WASN’T due until April 10th but I am measuring 39 weeks not 36 weeks and Brody is about 8lbs 6oz already!!! YIKES! I am honestly not THAT surprised but still wasn’t prepared for that bit o’ info today. LOL My doctor is going to be in New York all next week for the birth of his grandchild but it looks like the week after that we may be welcoming our little man into the family. CRAZY! I am truly getting excited now that I actually have time to think about it. Everyone who sees me says I won’t make it that long but what they don’t know is that my babies have ALL been stubborn and don’t like to come out of the incubator on their own. I am sure I will have to be induced just like the others. But that’s okay….I am ALL FOR SCHEDULING IT! LOL So there’s the baby update….He will be here soon and I will keep you updated!

Triple the Sketch Header Final Alrighty! Last thing… then I gotta plant my tush on the couch and watch LOST and the Suns game. :) I am sooooooo excited about this new Sketch blog I can hardly contain myself! My good friend Patter came up with this fun idea/concept and ran with it! I am super humbled that she asked me to join her design team! You all gotta go check it out! She’s got lots of fun things planned and is giving away an awesome prize in a drawing for those who go subscribe to the blog. I just know you truly will be inspired on a weekly and daily basis over there! I look forward to seeing you there!

Baby will be here before you know.
Just a word on measuring early (which you know, you had 3 already) I was 36 weeks & measured 41. They scheduled Ethan 10 days early & he was 11 pounds one ounce.

OK so I started breathing again once you revealed the shed information—I was a tad bit worried that you actually were going to be trailer trash1!! I would still totally love you and thoroughly enjoy your friendship but would NOT have come out to visit the shed!!! So where are the pix of the real house picture lady? Woot Woot me and Josh are leaving for a week in New York city Sunday!!!!!

  16. AZAnjanette Says:

haha ‘crack-shack’ now that is too funny. See that’s where you tell the kids they are going to be sleeping when they don’t behave. LOL
Actually, it could make a nice little scrap-shack (away from kids, noise, etc.)
I double-dog-dare you to paint it pink and go with it. (maybe it’s not enough room for all the paper) ;)
I am so glad to see this post. I have been checking daily to see if you landed. Looks like everything is going good. I am an arizona native too and never lived anywhere else. So I can only imagine that this is an adventure for you. allergy season is in high-gear for me-it started yesterday…can’t we get to 100 degrees already so all those flowers can shrivel up and die? GEEZ I can’t believe you are about to pop (literally). That is exciting news. I am sure you’re ready for it though. That last month of being preggers is a back killer. I am looking forward to seeing his pictures posted here! Good luck!

  17. rae Says:

YAY on the baby news ~ the sooner you get to meet your little man!!
Love the photo of your new ’shack’ (LOL!!)… we did the same thing (took a photo of a lovely little shack) and emailed it to our family/friends when we moved from Chicago to Alabama…. so funny!!

  18. Theresa Says:

Congrats on the new house, looks real spacious not to mention having a great sunroof!

Seriously glad to hear you’re settling in, small town life if great. Hope your little man gives you another week to let your doc get back in town.

  19. Tammi Says:

Shanna, a small town with the tallest object around the water tower with a light on top (so planes don’t crash into it) that is my kind of town. I was dying to get out of my small town growing up, however if we could go back and raise our kids there, I would do it in a heart beat. I think that is an actual picture of the house/trailer that I grew up in. Kidding. Take care. Tammi

  20. Amy Says:

BA ha ha ha…. That house/shack is hilarious!! I laughed out loud for that one!!

Glad you are all settled and things are going well. Hope your new little man will come when the Doc says. Better early, but not too early than later right?? Very exciting!! :o)
