We lost our puppy Buddy to Parvo yesterday morning. Everyone is so very sad here….especially our girls. I had no idea what Parvo even was until now. You can read more about it here. It’s been a rough few days and little Buddy will be missed. We plan on adopting another pet but not for at least 30 days so we can make sure the virus is not in our yard any longer. Yah…..I don’t know what else to say except it sucks…..BAD.
AS FAR AS BABY NEWS GOES……
I wasn’t dialated AT ALL and I haven’t thinned A BIT so my doctor is really hesitant about inducing me just yet. I am 38 weeks now. He did say that next Tuesday though when I come in for my appointment to bring my bag and “Plan on staying”. My doctor’s office is literally at the bottom floor of the hospital where I will be having the baby. So that was encouraging. He said they would find a reason to induce labor. 
Ummmmmm…..How about the fact that I have 10lb 6oz babies that are 23 inches long??? And he did say Brody will be at least 9 pounds. Okay……so what are we waiting for again?

OOOH!! That is SAD!! I had that happen as a young girl to my dog. I cried and cried! I remember my dad’s girlfriend getting a dog right afterward and it got the same thing from being in our house, so definitely WAIT!

Oh Shannon, that is just awful! We had that happen as well, and it’s just devestating! We had to spray everywhere the dog was all through the house and yard with diluted bleach water to make sure we killed the virus… it can even be tracked on your shoes, so you’ll definitely want to disinfect even where the dog didn’t go. it was just awful. I am so very sorry to hear that you guys have lost buddy!

We are all so sad here and the girls are extra careful about our new puppy leaving the house now. I went and got his shots today after hearing about buddy yesterday. I hope baby Brody takes the sting away for a while until you can replace him. I will be checking back next week to see pictures and of course I will be waiting for my phone to ring on Tuesday evening. Good Luck!

I’m sorry to hear about Buddy. We had a puppy die from parvo about 10 years ago. We sprayed our house & yard with bleach water like the vet told us PLUS we waited about 3 months before getting another puppy. Guess what? That one got parvo, too. It is so highly contagious. Luckily, the 2nd one survived & we still have him to this day. But, it is a rough virus!
Can’t wait to hear about little Brody’s arrival! And, to see some boy layouts!!! YIPEE!

Shanna, I’m sorry to hear about Buddy! Have you contacted the shelter you got him from??? He obviously had parvo prior to coming home with you, wasn’t he currant on his shots too??? We had a puppy that got parvo which we spent a fortune on and he lived through it, but wasn’t the same dog after he got well. In May he’ll be 14 years old . . . Good Luck with your delivery, I’ll be thinking about you.

Gosh I am so sorry that you lost your puppy. We lost a puppy once to that too and wasn’t aware what it even was and that there are shots required and meds and so forth. SO sad!!
My 3rd baby was 10lbs 4oz so I know what having big babies is like!! LOL!! Believe it or not that was my easiest delivery(normal) ever. LOL!!

Oh Shanna, I am so sorry to hear about your little Buddy.
I know what it is like for the little ones to go through that. My 2 Grandchildren even had a little funeral for our little Sheba and they still put flowers on the site where my daughter buried him. Definately wait….

oh man. i am so sorry about the puppy. I am happy you got such great photos of the lil puppy though. We all never know how precious time can be until we lose something precious like a puppy or something or someone we love.
