……………I’m super excited to share my version of the Becky Higgins’ Project 365!!! Details about her project (in case you have no clue) are here on her blog. Basically she’s selling a kit that promotes taking a photo and journaling a bit every day. WELLLLLL…… I KNOW ME…. and there’s
NO WAY I would ever be able to stay on top of a DAILY project like that. Regardless of my great intentions. It will be hard enough to do the one I am going to do instead. I tweaked Becky’s idea to a “weekly” thing and am calling it “Project 52—a weekly peek into our daily lives“. Pretty original eh? NOT!!!!! LOL I am sure there are a lot of other scrappers out there doing something similar but whatever works right? I’m just excited to be doing it! If you have any questions because you want to try something similar…. don’t hesitate to ask!
The really cool thing about my album is I created it using everything I already had lying around the house! I cut the album cover and numbers out of 1/4″ hardwood using my scroll saw then painted them. I love the Preface page. It explains more about the album so be sure and click on that image so you can read it! I love the quote from President Hinckley. It fits perfect!
Then here’s the first couple pages and one of the “master” copies of the inside pages. I made two styles so if my photo for the week is horizontal then I can use that one. I love that I am done and ready to go with it. It took a bit to set up but now all I have to do is copy my original onto plain white cardstock or even some patterned paper! Easy Peasy! Oh…. and I have found that it’s easiest for me to just use my calendar at home to jot down thoughts or track the things going on with our family so I can fill these pages out. I am sooooo terrible at keeping handwritten journals. I always felt so much pressure at filling those big empty pages! LOL But something like this where I am only jotting down a bit each day is PERFECT for me! I look forward to watching this album grow and looking back at our 2009!!!
Here’s a couple more creative projects I finished this week! This layout was based on this week’s “Friday Formula” over at CMK! As soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to do! So here’s the annual Christmas cards/photo cards layout! I stitched around three sides of the main block to create a “pocket” to store the rest of the photos! Love how it turned out and it didn’t take long at all! The card is one that’s posted on the Bo Bunny blog as we played along with Dee’s card sketch this week!
Last thing I will share (cause this blogging thing is taking too long! LOL) is my favorite photo of Brody right now! I know I put it on one of my journal pages but I HAD to share it here as well cause it’s so stinkin’ cute! He’s 9 months old!!!!!! Crazy huh? He is sitting up all by himself now and doing the combat crawl still. I am sure he’ll be on all fours here pretty quick! And don’t laugh at that wild muff on top of his head! I promise when I took the picture that it looked like a mohawk! BWAHAHAHAHA! Not even close huh? LOL Okay… nuff of this puter stuff! Have a great weekend!

It has been fun to look back now. I have been contemplating doing a 52 week challenge….guess I best hurry or I’ll be behind before I even start! LOL……

Love your idea for the Project 365 thing– it seems very doable, which is key to keeping it up.
I also love your layout for the scrappy formula (I’m uploading mine right now) & your other projects, too!

I hope you keep it up!! I would love to try something like this, but I doubt if I would even keep up every week. Maybe, I’ll do a 12 month book. That would be more feasible for me. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration. I love your Christmas card page. What a cute idea!

I love your idea for 52 weeks rather than 365 days. It seems more doable and realistic for me. Would you mind sharing your cute master copy that we could use as well? Your handwriting is so cute!
Thanks!
