Happy Friday! So glad the weekend is finally here! I’ve been a creating fool this week on projects I neeeeed to do and projects to “play” with. Sometimes when I have deadlines or things I HAVE to get done it helps to take a creative time-out and make something just for fun!
Over at For the Luv of Art…. Ellen posted a card challenge this week to use masking on a card. This happens to be one of my most favorite techniques of all time! I think it’s because I get to play with paint and I ♥ acrylic paints! I created this card using the yellow cardstock as the base. Then I found an old KI Memories Lace cardstock in my stash that I laid down over the card to use as my mask. I couldn’t find a link to them anywhere online because I don’t think they even sell them anymore but I did find a picture of one so you could at least see what I used.
So once I had the lace (mask) positioned where I wanted it… I used a stipple brush with only a little bit of pink paint on it to cover the card. While that was drying I cut a flower out of the lace cardstock to use as a mini mask on the kraft brown cardstock. I used white paint on that and then the “Celebrate Your Day” stamp from this set. Once my masking was done and the paint was all dry, I inked the edges, added some stitching, and finished up with a ribbon and pink bling. Easy peasy! Masking looks like it would be hard but it’s actually super easy and adds so much to your project! Love it!
I wasn’t planning on this turning into a “tutorial” on masking but I hope it inspires you to look at what you have in your stash that can be used as a mask and to get out those paints and play!
Have a great weekend! Stay cool! ♥

Nah-nah-nah-nah..nah..nah-nah!!!!
( que Will Smith’s song gettin’ Jiggy with it! )
HA HA HA!!!! I know….. I’m a total nerd!!!
But seriously…… everytime I’ve finished a project the last few days this song pops into my head. LOL!!! I’ve been using some digital scrapbooking elements on my projects…. ie; HYRID SCRAPBOOKING!!!! WOOT!!! Have you ever tried it? I could see this becoming a new addiction! But alas….. I REFUSE to EVER put away my paper, scissors, and glue entirely. I will never go completely digital. EVVVVVERRR!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
Along with that CA-UUUUTE hybrid layout I posted a few days ago of my sweet boy. Here’s some other projects I’ve done. Instead of listing all the elements I will just post links to the kits I used so proper credit is still given. And if you have any specific questions, you can post or email me…. sound good? Hope you likey!

I wasn’t planning on posting anything today but I was up until 130am this morning working on this layout so I just HAD to share! Especially since it has it’s own “Independence” theme going on. HA!!!!!
Wanna hear something cool????
It’s my VERY FIRST HYBRID LAYOUT!!!!
Yep… lots of digital elements on here that I printed, cut out and scrapped! I will NEVER be a full-on digital scrapbooker…. I love scissors, paper, and glue too much. Using my hands is the fun part. But I AM IN LOVE with this Hybrid thing!!! Having the flexibility of sizing things how you need them and just printing another one if you mess up is WAY….. WELL…… FREAKING COOL!!!!!!!
here’s the deets on this layout so you can see which elements are digital and which are traditional:
Bookworm - by Kristin Cronin Barrow
pp13 - red Alpha paper
red-2 - big “2″ circle
Independent - by Shawna Clingerman & Nikki Epperson
p6 - Argyle paper
paper2 - Light Blue star paper
bracket - Big Blue brackets
fierce, strong, and fearless - wordart
Traditional Supplies:
Collage Press-Camden Collection-Island Retreat-background paper
American Crafts-Rainboots Puffy letter stickers
Flag picks and hemp from Hobby Lobby
Okay……….. I need to say while I am posting how eternally grateful I am for all those who serve our country in defense of our FREEDOMS that we take for granted daily. I feel very blessed to live in and be a citizen of this amazing Country… USA. Everyone knows SOMEONE who has or who IS serving in the military. It’s always a good day to hug them and tell them thank you for their sacrifices. But especially today…. July 4th!
Enjoy this weekend with family and friends! Stay safe! ♥

YES!!!!!!!!!! BEST ONE YET!!! You HAVE to go see it! Renee and I caught the Midnight last night! And though we have both been draggin’ fools all day….. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! HA HA!!! I know I’m not the ONLY one crazy for the Twilight books and movies…. check out the Bo Bunny blog today. They have a whole post dedicated to the Boys of Twilight!
They even asked me to play along so I created this Layout just for the occasion! I know, I know…. call me a groupie. Whateva! But I PROMISE you…. if you haven’t snuggled into the first book of this series…. you’re seriously missing out! I have been “Team Jacob” since day one…. but after seeing Eclipse last night…. I am back to oogling over ALL of the Twilight boys. Even the Skinny Sparkly Edward looked GOOOOOD in this one! Jasper and Charlie even too!!! Crazy right? LOL Well, just go see for yourself!

Good Monday Morning everyone! Hope this week brings good things! I am hoping mine will be somewhat quiet but somehow, even when the schedule is pretty clear, quiet doesn’t happen. LOL I have a few things I can share with you before I get wrapped up in laundry, kids stuff, and the last of my Bo Bunny stickers until next release!
This fun card I created for the current Moxie Fab World Challenge: I want to ride my Bicycle. We are supposed to use a bike on a card or project in a fun way. Love these “Sun Kissed” Bo Bunny papers and the Bike is a rub-on from the same line. I don’t know about you but bicycle images just make me smile.

………..I’ve been dying to scrap some actual layouts lately. I’ve been seriously slacking in that department. Renee and I did a lot of scrapping this weekend and I got these two done. The title work on the Chloe layout was created by cutting out some letters from an old canvas tote I had. There was a challenge going on over at For the Luv of Art to use fabric on a layout. The Macey layout was created using the June kit from the same site. Love that place!
Now to share something not so cute! LOL well…… I guess that depends on who you’re talking to! My girls love this fuzzy little guy. I found him yesterday while pulling a few weeds out in the front yard. I say eeeeeeeewwwww….. My girls say cooool!!!! LOL
Okay! Off to *work*! Make it a good one! Toodles! ♥
