In my almost 10 years of child-bearing/rearing…..I have NEVER….EVER….fallen prey to the stereotypical “pickles & ice cream” cravings you hear some women have while prego. I was looking in the fridge just a few minutes ago….next thing you know I am sitting at the computer munching on a crisp dill pickle. What the heck is happening to me??????????????
So PLEASE tell me I am not the only one who has done this?!?!?!??!

LOL, Shanna.. I could not enough ENOUGH pickles when I was pregnant.. I swear - and it was a terrible experience with my first child, as they put me on a NO-SALT diet because I swelled so bad, so I would sneak to the fridge in the middle of the night and inhale pickles until my ex husband heard me and then drug me away, LOL!!!

I was “A-1″ typical with Noah. I would want ice cream one second…then once finished with my yummy vanilla treat I’d want a sammich and a dill pickle. It was crazy. Even crazier, I HATE dill pickles.
So I didn’t want them like TOGETHER. But back to back worked
Once I pushed that little boy out my cravings ended. thank god!

Oh yeah… I was a pickles and ice cream preggo. On one occasion (actually my due date!) I even at them in close sequence while we were out to eat.
Yeah. Other than that I didn’t have cravings.

With my oldest, I craved corndogs and powdered donuts!!! It’s now wonder I had the starting signs of toxemia 6 weeks away from delivering! LOL With my third child, I could not get enough starch especially Jiffy mix cornbread drizzled with butter & honey. YUM! I could eat the whole pan myself which would explain the massive weight gain. LOL

I totally know the feeling. I was craving pickles on day with kolsen and they tasted so good that I ate a little to many and lost them a few moments later. They are not good coming back up. That cured that craving!

I have yet to be pregnant, but I LOVE dill pickles! There’s nothing like a cold, crisp dill pickle to top of a good sandwich, or just for the fun of it!

I had something different with each pregnancy. I hate pickles and did crave them with one pregnancy. I had the oreo pregnancy, the pickles and lemon pregnancy, the pizza pregnancy, the mayonaise pregnancy, and the Dr Pepper pregnancy. And with the exception of pizza, rarely did the craving carry over to non pregnancy.

better the pickles than the ice cream!
I was all over the ice cream
and for some weird reason, I could not get thru a single afternoon without a bagle from Einstein’s. Luckily there was a brand new one that opened up near my work so I was able to cruise over there and get one on my afternoon break. By the time I’d get there, I’d feel like I was starving. And if it wasn’t a bagel, I was at the water-n-ice store getting a scoop of Thrifty ice cream….YIKES…baby is 2 1/2 months old now and I started my diet yesterday…..BOOHOO….it’s no fun being fat!!!

My two pregnancies have been SOOOO different. My first one, I wanted spicy stuff ALL the time. I ate at this little Mexican dive several times a week and I even put up with the horrid heart burn because I wanted it THAT bad. But this time around, I have had hardly any cravings and when it is a craving, it’s usually for some sweets.
Needless to say, I gained way more the first time around than this time, luckily. And with two more weeks to go, I think I’m in the clear.

That’s funny. I craved, with all three pregnancies, anything that was cold and juicy. Could’ve been pickles, popsicles, ice cream, oranges…anything, as long as it was cold and juicy!!

They actually settled by stomach when I was prego and that was a good thing since I was sick the whole time! Your layouts and projects are gorgeous too! You have been busy!

Barf. No pickles for me. Mashed potatoes and cornbread with Ryan, caramel sundaes from McD’s with Meghan and baked goods with Erin. Why was it always fattening crap with me?
