Mississippi Trip

KacieBaptism1resizeHome again. I always have mixed feelings about coming home from a trip. This one went by waaaay too quickly. Especially since I got to spend some time with Kacie and Karlie who I haven’t seen in what seems like forever. It was a special weekend! Kacie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Saturday. Shane was a proud papa as he got to perform the baptism for Kacie. It’s one of those “Daddy” things that he’s been excited to do for a long time. I was very proud of both of them. Kacie looked like a little angel. Karlie1resizeShe sang a little solo and had her Daddy in tears. It surely was one of those moments you wish you could freeze in time. Karlie wanted to get baptized like her sister. They are both so sweet. I feel blessed I was able to be there this weekend. Thanks again to my sister Deanna and her hubby for staying with my girls for the weekend so I could be in MS.

I was excited to get a few pictures of Shane with his girls. I also got some photos of “The Barn” while I was there. That place is awesome. It has an upper level to it that is air conditioned with two game rooms and two big screens. ShaneNgirls2resizeOne for the video games and one for movies and sporting events of course. There’s a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, a coke machine with the yummiest coke on the planet. (yes…..I fell off the soda-caffeine wagon hard….more details later) and a never-ending supply of popcorn and tootsie rolls! It’s the coolest place in Mississippi…..literally! It belongs to Greg…one of Shane’s best friends. Shane helped build it when he lived there so it’s a fun place for us to hang out when we visit. Barn2resizeBarn1resize

So we got home late last night. On the way home from the airport…..Check out this photo I got around the corner from my house. Everyone was stopped along the road taking pictures. Such a random thing to see. The lady who owns this car came over to us and explained that a drunk driver jumped the median and knocked this HUGE boulder out into oncoming traffic. This poor lady ran over it……and here it is in all it’s strangeness. The photo is blurry. Sorry. pretty dark! LOL carboulderresize

GEEZ that photo with the rock! how crazy! Makes you glad it didn’t happen to you but how awful for whomever it did happen to! Looks like it was a nice old ‘granny car’ too.

Those were some really beautiful daddy-daughter pics. The Christening photo was stunning. Did you take that shot?

Also had to say that I was in a scrapbook store around the corner from my house called A Scrappin’ Affair over on Crismon/Baseline and I picked up a Bo-Bunny idea pamphlet and I was looking thru it and saw some of your work. That paper bag idea is SPIFFY. So cool since I have a big pile of paper sacks/plenty of paper scraps and we always have LOTS of birthdays. Woo-hoo you are a big-time paper-crafting celebrity! haha :)
Have a great day and keep up the excellent work girl!

That ‘barn’ is awesome. Sounds like a fun place to hang out.

Seriously? A drunk guy knocked that in the road?? What is he, Superman?? Poor woman. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
