In[s]piration Monday? :o)

I know, I know…..I have been slacking on the blogging and the …………………In[s]piration Fridays but I am happy to say that after some much needed rest this weekend, I am feeling 100% again! FINALLY! I swear that illness I had last weekend has really taken forever to recover from. I also realized that the cough syrup I was taking at night was just making me worse the next day. I would wake up with these horrendous headaches and felt like I had a hangover. Not good. Anyway, it’s nice to feel somewhat “normal” again.

So here’s a quick recap of the weekend (pretty boring) and then I have some CA-UUUUUUUUUTE things I want to share that might inspire you with the last few days of school this week and the summer quickly approaching!

Friday WAS a good day until the PHOENIX SUNS completely disappointed us and gave up their shot at the Big Prize. I felt like I was watching a close relative lose his State High School Basketball Championship!!! It really seemed like this was THE YEAR of the Suns. ……….Oh well. Moving on.

Saturday was fun. We went to the Church for Primary Activity Day. It was “Primary Do-Gooders Day”. Each class did some sort of service project. The kids in my class are only 4-5yrs old so we made some bouquets of flowers out of cardstock and ribbons then delivered them to a couple different Elderly women in our ward. We sang “Popcorn Popping” to them as well and they each returned their sweet sentiments with some cute stories. I have to tell you what happened at Sister Booth’s house….bless her heart. I guess she forgot to put her “Tooth” in before we showed up and so leave it to one of my kiddos to notice. Little Hannah pipes up and asks “What happened to your tooth?” Sister Booth, a little embarrassed, and realizing she forgot to put the replacement back in says with all the humor in her sweet soul…”it’s sitting on the bathroom counter.” ROFLMBO…..FUNNY!!!!!!!! Then little Hannah, gotta love kids, asks “Are you going to put it under your pillow?” HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How stinkin’ cute was that little exchange? I mean this is a 78 year old woman and a 4 yr old little girl. They are on the opposite ends of the magical spectrum of womanhood. I love people. I love the beauty we all possess because God made us each this way. I love how you can be having a yucky day and all it takes is the smile of a complete stranger, a compliment from a co-worker, or the sweet innocence of a child to turn your day around with a simple gesture.

I wish I had gotten some photos but I didn’t. I stink at that sometimes. I totally spaced!

Anyway…after the fun at the church was over, Bailee and Macey got to go swimming at a friend’s house for a few hours. This was PERFECT because Macey’s birthday is next Monday and I haven’t had any time away from her to shop for birthday gifts. Lookie what I found for her. She is going to be sooooooo stoked! She’s been wanting some Heelys so these are going to make her sqeal with excitement! Aren’t they cute? I found some other fun things but this is her main gift.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low-key. We took the girls to see Shrek the 3rd on Saturday night. FUNNNNY stuff!!! Gonna be adding that one to the Family DVD Library. LOL I got the house cleaned which was in dire need. It should have been cleaned over a week ago but I just hadn’t felt up to it. Then I got my Sharing time lesson and Primary lesson prepared. Sunday we pretty much relaxed. It was nice.

Okay….on to the fun stuff. I got my June/July issue of PaperCrafts last week and am soooo excited by a couple things I found in there! Talk about IN[S]PIRATION!!! I always struggle with end-of-the-year teacher gifts. It’s been even more difficult trying to decide what to give Bailee’s teacher because he’s a “HE”. LOL Well….I am taking the girls “plant” shopping tonight so they can pick one out for their teachers. Then we will be decorating them like this one I have pictured here. EASY and FUN for the girls to do!!! What are you guys doing, if anything for your kids’ teachers??? PLEASE share! Post a link! I am always looking for fun and cute ideas!

The other thing I wanted to share that I found in PaperCrafts….A summer reading journal! You guys may have seen these before and I may have even too. But this is something my girls’ are finally at a perfect age for!!! So I am really excited about these! I plan on making a couple of them this week for Bailee and Macey. Since they will be leaving soon to head to North Carolina for the summer, I plan on giving them each a little “summer care package”. They LOVVVVE to read. Tom’s parents will be with them at home during the day while he is working so it will be fun to go to the library with Grandma and Grandpa this summer and keep a fun journal about the books they read. They love to write and draw so I know they will be excited to use these. I will post pictures of them later this week.

Okay….that’s it for now. Today I have to work on Macey’s baptism invite. I decided to do a “layout” and email it to everyone! Kinda cheesey I know but I think it will be fun to keep for her scrapbook. I will post that too! Have a great week everyone!!!!

I totally missed the summer reading journal! Thanks for pointing it out, I need to get busy as my girls leave for Florida on Saturday. I also make a mini calendar so they can mark off the days til they come back home to mom. Not really sure who needs that more, me or them. LOL

I haven’t opened my magazine yet. I better get looking. That is some awesome inspiration. I got plants last year and this one is way cuter. I love the “Grow” saying. I am using this for sure.

Glad you are feeling better. Oh and I hope you are ok with me getting Macey a Tamagotchi for her birthday. I will mail that off tomorrow or Wednesday so she will get it in time.

First of all–the tooth this is SO cute! I love the ‘leave it under your pillow’ comment! Second, my 7 yr old is dying for heelies. Where did you find these and was the price reasonable? Third, I’ve never officially done end of the year gifts, mostly just cards or a small book or something, but this year I have small plaques that my MIL actually gave to me that say “Teachers are a work of Heart” and a small keychain, so I lucked out this year! Glad you’re feeling better! The journals are adorable!

Thanks so much ladies! Karen I love that album! What a cute idea! Amie…I love that quote and I got the Heelys at Sports Authority for $60.00. I might have been able to find them cheaper but I didn’t feel like hunting them down, wasting time and gas to save $5.00. They had a great selection over there too! :)

  12. Administrator Says:

Deanna….what the heck is a Tamagatchi???? LOL

And Lisa! I remember your summer journals! They were way cute!
