YAY!!!! It’s Friday! We have a fun weekend ahead spending time with family. It’s been a great couple days with my sweetie pies finally home from their Dad’s. I feel like a Mom again. I feel normal again. It feels wonderful again. My girls are back to their normal selves with the drama and teasing each other. Home Sweet Home. But I wouldn’t change a thing. LOL Thanks for all your sweet words of encouragement and advice over the last 6 weeks! You guys were of great comfort to me!
So….I have been getting several emails lately with questions on how I do different things regarding my scrapbooking. This got me thinking….I thought it would be fun every now and then to post some tricks of the trade I’ve picked up over the years. I always appreciate learning things that will help me to be a more efficient scrapper. I’ve posted some photos below (Bailee, my 9yr old took these…GO BAILEE!!) And a brief explanation of a trick my old buddy Angela, who I worked on the QuicKutz design team with, taught me. She showed me how to use brads to tie down ribbon on my cards and layouts. I use this trick ALL the time! It helps keep your ribbon in place A LOT better than any adhesives or glue dots plus you can turn the ribbon easily any direction you want once it’s pinned down by the brad. Check it out!
PHOTO #1 A push pad, a brad, some ribbon, a paper piercer or a tiny hole punch and the card or layout you are attaching the ribbon to. I used a flower stamped on some cardstock as a sample. PHOTO #2 Place the ribbon good side down over the spot where you want the ribbon to be fixed on your project then pierce a hole through the ribbon and the paper. PHOTO #3 Push the brad through the ribbon and paper. It will stay still if you are poking into a push pad. PHOTO #4 Flip the card over and fasten the brad down securely. PHOTO #5 Flip card back over and tie the ribbon how you like. PHOTO #6 Trim ribbon and adjust it in whatever postion you want. It turns around easily because of the brad but also stays very secure! I LOVVVVVVE this little trick. I don’t ever have to worry about my ribbons falling off my projects. Pretty cool trick huh?
So I got this card finished today for the last week of the contest over at Sketch This cards blog. Nothing like a little Christmas in July eh? I instantly fell in love with these SEI Christmas papers. I added some glitter for a wintry look but you can’t see it very well in the photo. Oh well. I can’t wait to see what the other ladies have done for this sketch. It was really fun to work with. But then so were each of the other sketches!
oooooooooooooooh…..and I added this fun piece of scrappy home decor to my Etsy shop today!!!! There are more photos of it there. If you would like one in specific papers or colors…….just let me know! I can do many different things with it! I can even do different words if ya like!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Crossing my fingers for more rain. My poor dead grass needs some life to it. It’s purty crunchy right at the moment! LOL

I love this tip. So much better than what I usually do- poke two holes thru and run the ribbon all the way round (which makes the piece too bulky too). Awesome tip that I can’t wait to use. Thanks so much!
