I can actually post early today since the sweet hubby is in Mississippi and I can play on the computer without waking him up! LOL Miss you babe!
Soooooo excited about this week’s ……In[s]piration! It doesn’t come from me. It comes from a few talented friends and a talented chicka whose work I spotted in the gallery at Two Peas. Thanks guys for letting me share your schtuff!! This week’s theme is about “the Happiest Place on Earth”. A few of you are bound to have some of these photos to scrap come the end of summer right? I don’t know about you but I really struggle when it comes to scrapping anything DISNEY. I guess it goes back to the “me and primary colors don’t get along” thing. Well……As you look at a few of these ladies’ layouts….you will see the details on a Disney and Mickey layout can have a new twist, fun embellies, and not your typical primary colors goin’ on! Hope you enjoy!
I saw Tammi’s layout here to the left on her blog and instantly fell in love. Of course the HUGE 12inch photo is the first thing you see as it pops off the page. I love the subtle shade of red Tammi used for her background paper. It’s not a bright primary red so it doesn’t compete with the brightness of the photo but rather let’s it shine! And then Tammi rocked the embellies on this one!! Using buttons to create a Mickey Mouse shape in colors other than black is PURE GENIUS! I am sooooo trying that! She used a quote from her daughter as the title for her page and then of course documented the conversation thru her journaling which is so very important. Autumn will love looking at this layout as she grows older and be grateful her Mom took the time to capture this memory. I also love how Tammi snuck some traditional looking stickers of Minnie and Mickey in there and still made it look amazing. Sometimes it’s hard to use stickers without them taking over the layout. This is classic Mouse perfection!

This next layout is actually the cover to Rachel’s mini-album documenting their family trip to DisneyLand. I love that she took a photo of this sign at the theme park then used it as part of the journaling for her cover. Her title work and choice of papers are just yummy. I am in love with her GOOFY layout too! Like Tammi….she strayed away from the typical primary colors and also rocked the title and the embellies. I have a thing for mixing up different fonts for my titles like Rachel did on this page. Most people would never have reached for shades of teal green when creating a Disney page but Rachel pulled it off with sheer style! Oh and be sure to check out Rachel’s blog when you have a few minutes. This girl amazes me.
This last layout I found while doing a search in the Peanut Gallery over at Two Peas in a Bucket. I am so glad I did! You could spend hours in Karen’s Gallery just drooling over her creations. This last page is pure simplistic Disney perfection. Multi-photos, clean, bold and bright colors, Primary….but different shades of it. Love the pink touches and the dash of red. It’s Simply Beautiful.
Thanks so much ladies for sharing your talents with us! I hope this shed a little light on a different approach to scrapping those Disney photos! We shouldn’t struggle to get some of our children’s favorite memories into our albums. It is……afterall….the Happiest Place on Earth!!

Oh man! I love this entry about Disneyland! We are taking my sweet little 3 year old in December and we are so excited for a much needed vacation! For now everytime we go to the scrapbooking store, walmart, michaels I let my daughter pick out disney stickers. That way by the time we get back and I start the album I have a ton of embeliies to choose from. This will also lighten my purchases after the trip!
Thanks so much for all the inspiration! I am loving everything and am so eager to go on our trip!

Terrific Disney layouts. I love Tammy’s. It’s so cool to see a different take on Disney. You gave me some great ideas for a Disney page kit swap that I’ve got to send out soon. I was so wanting to got to Disney World last month for the Star Wars exhibit.
