Speaking of paper piecings… Wanna see some old school ones I sold on Ebay back in the day? I made these when my sweet Macey was just a newborn and she turned 9 in May!! How crazy is that? Where has the time gone? I swear I ask that question EVERY time I post these days! LOL Anyway… I thought I would share these for old times sake! Plus they might get your creative juices flowing about all the possibilities there are creating paper piecings.

Here’s the card I did for this week’s sketch over at Triple the Sketch! The design team did some really cute stuff using this sketch! Lots of inspiration over there as always!

Okay! And as usual… I totally spaced on doing the drawing on my blog again!!! But I did finally pick a winner! Well, Cassidy picked a winner! HA! Drum roll plz………..

Here is a frame I did for a friend here in Madison this week. She actually has a friend whose daughter just gave birth to triplets so she became a Grandma x 3!!!! How fun is that? I have lots of other stuff I am working on that I will be able to share over the next week or so! Busy! Busy!

Okay and one last thing! For all you crazies who keep making fun of where we live….. This should just add fuel to the fire. Look what we found on our back porch a few days ago? It had been raining for like three days straight…. one morning this week we heard the dogs barking like CRAZY and when we went to check on them we saw them barking at this little guy. LOL He wasn’t bigger than about 7-8inches long but our dogs wouldn’t go near it! Too funny!

Where the heck did this summer go?

Seriously… It feels like it lasted 4 weeks MAYBE!!!

All of our girls started school last Thursday the 7th. That just seems so wrong to me. What happened to starting after Labor Day or the first week of September? Granted they got out of school the 3rd week of May but the summer still seems short. I loved having them home with me and it feels like the time just slipped away. Here are a couple of shots I got of our beautiful bunch on the morning of their first day of school! Shane and I were talking about the heap of trouble we are in when the boys start trying to hang around. All of these young ladies are so stinkin’ cute…. we are in BIG trouble.

Here’s a cutie-patootie photo my cousin Brooke got of Brody with her daughter Kamden. All Kamden wanted to do was love on him. It was so stinkin’ adorable! We stayed a night with them last week when I had to make the trek out to North Carolina to get my girls from their Dad’s house. Thanks for letting us raid your place for a night Brooke…. it was awesome to visit with you! Sorry we missed you Brandon! Maybe we’ll catch you next time! So, Shane got a HUGE calling at church. He was made the Ward Mission Leader. I say huge because if he wants to do a good job… which he will… it’s pretty time consuming and there is a lot involved with it. He’s pretty excited about this new challenge and I know he’ll be great at it. Being a convert to the church himself… he has a lot to offer where his testimony is concerned. l’m super proud of him and the great example he is to me and our children. I am truly blessed to be married to this stud. Love you babe!

Well…. that’s me doing something I swore I would NEVER EVER do my entire life! HA HA HA!!! Yah… we all went flying on Saturday in Mr. Greg’s plane. It’s a four-seater. It was sooooo much fun. I’ve had a terrible fear of these things most of my life but when Greg (Shane’s best friend) got his pilot’s license I knew sooner than later that I was gonna have to give it a whirl!! My girls were ecstatic about it. It really was exhilarating!!! Thanks for the fun time Greg! Here are some more photos of the event. Even one of Brody chillin’ with Daddy while Mommy gets the first turn in the plane! The picture of Cassidy through the plane window cracks me up! Look at that big cheesy smile! She was determined not to fly before we got to Greg’s hanger but when she saw the plane in person she instantly changed her mind! Bailee actually changed her mind too for whatever reason. Once they saw the plane they got super excited. Shane has been raving about Greg’s plane for a while now so it was cool to finally get a peek & to fly in it.

A couple cards to share! So I was asked by Anne to be the August Card Diva over at Scrapbook News and Review!!! How cool is that? It’s an online scrapbooking magazine and it was awesome to be able to create a couple of cards specifically for them! Take a peek when you get a chance! The large brackets on the “HI” card are new stamps from Bo Bunny and they are AWESOME!!! I am actually working on some stuff right now for the Bo Bunny blog featuring one of their new stamps sets! I’ll let you know when that gets posted!

Alrighty! I gotta get going! I actually start doing childcare again this week. It’s only a few kiddos though and it will really help out financially around here until Shane gets busy again at work. I will be watching another 2 month old baby boy and a 3 year old little girl. Then I will have their brother who is in Kindergarten only after school every day. So three kiddos but only one set of parents. I can totally live with that!

Now… I have had several emails asking about my glittery “chipboard” I used on 3 of my cards during the contest! Well… it really isn’t chipboard. You will be surprised at what it actually is! It’s glittered foam! I found these visors at Michael’s craft store and they came already glittered so I didn’t have to make a mess! Plus the foam was SUPER easy to cut through with my scissors. And I even ran the foam through my QuicKutz Revolution! The word “Rock” on my silhouette card is the Diesel font from QK. The Revolution cut easily through this glittered foam! I stocked up on these while I could because I think they are a seasonal summer thing. In fact…. the last few I bought were on clearance for only $0.40 each!!!! Run and get some before they are gone! Here’s the cards I used the pink and yellow foam on again so you can see what I’m talking about. And you know me…. I gotta share my fun find with the blogging/scrappy world! Leave a comment and I will put your name in a drawing to win all four of these visors so you too can cut ‘em up and make fun creations with them! LOL I will also throw a few other scrappy things in as a Thank You! Thanks to all of you who kept my creative mojo trudgin’ along during the card contest!!!! I swear I was just flying out here to Mississippi for Kacie’s 8th birthday and to watch her be baptized by her Daddy! How did a whole year whizz by already? Kacie’s birthday was actually on Saturday but it’s been crazy this weekend and I am lame and totally forgot to come here and wish her Happy Birthday!
Like all the other girls, Kacie is nutso for Pokemon right now. She eats, lives, and breathes it I swear. She is truly the sweetest kid ever. I am lucky to be her step-mom. She has the biggest heart and is always willing to help out with anything. Like the ghetto-fabulous home cake I made for her? Complete with metal baking pan? That’s kinda my signature thing. LOL (that’s for you Lisa!) Kacie said it was the best chocolate cake she’s ever had. See….. I told ya she’s the sweetest kid ever. HA! HA!

I wish my girls could have been here to help us celebrate Kacie’s birthday. I am leaving in a few hours to go get them back from their Dad’s house in NC. First I will drive to Brandon & Brooke’s today and stay the night with them. They are my cousins who live in Summerville, SC. I am excited to visit them but I will hit the road again Tuesday morning to get the girls and drive home. So basically I will be on the road for the next two days but even with gas prices it was A LOT cheaper than flying them this time. They would have stayed until Friday but I can’t believe school starts already this Thursday! Why does the summer seem shorter and shorter every year?

Anyhoo…. I hope everyone has a great week! I will try and hop on the computer at Brooke’s place later tonight to post my last card for the contest and give you the link to the last round of voting. I am busy over here at home trying to recoop from our trip. We arrived safely into Jackson last night. Brody thinks he needs to be held all day since that’s pretty much what happened in Arizona between Grandmas, Aunts, Cousins, Uncles, Grandpas and friends! It may take a couple of days for him to “get over it” while Momma isn’t holding him all day. LOL

Well, I have a house to clean, laundry to do, a cake to bake and presents to wrap. Kacie is turning 9 tomorrow! YAY!

Oh…. and sometime this weekend I need to make my last and final card for the contest! Stay tuned on Monday to see the last 5 cards! WOOT! WOOT!!!!!

So… I can’t remember if I posted that I made it to the TOP 10 of the Paper Crafts card Gallery Idol contest or not but THANKS TO YOU GUYS I did and am sooooo excited to be here! Thanks so much for all your votes! Our current challenge was to create a card with a quote on it. I had quite a time trying to figure out what to do with such limited scrappy resources here. I am soooooo out of my comfort zone working away from my scrappy space at home. Thank goodness my mom had the basics to get me through and a fun trip to the local scrapbook store didn’t hurt either. Wink!

Okay….. they finally fixed the voting process so it’s a lot easier to see all the cards and cast your vote.
