So I added a few things to my ETSY shop this afternoon. A couple goodies were my projects from Creative Escape that I loved but wanted to recreate with different color schemes. But Christmas is coming….hint hint! LOL Then I also added this fun little pumpkin hanger and my cute little snowman ornament that I designed a few years ago. I still get requests for him.
Sooooooo….this weekend has been one of those seriously unproductive-lay-around-the-house-and-relax kind of weekends. I got to hang out with my MAS girls on Friday night for a bit and that’s always fun of course. But yesterday and today has basically been a Prison Break marathon. Shane ordered Season one thru Netflix and we are both hooked. Not a good way to get some projects or housework completed. Anyone else hooked on this? Good grief. Life seems to be on pause while we catch up on this.
I did remember this afternoon that I never posted about my family reunion over Labor Day weekend. It was tons of fun. We are going camping again next weekend up on the rim with some family and friends so I better get these pics posted first! HA! One thing that I love so much about my extended family is that we all make it a point to see each other several times a year whether it be camping or Thanksgiving or Christmas parties. I am fortunate enough to know all my great aunts and uncles and second and third cousins very well. This is a very rare thing these days. This photo is one I took on Sunday while we had our family church services there in the woods. This is my favorite part of the weekend (besides the horseshoe tournament of course) because we spend a few hours sharing our testimonies with each other and strengthening each other’s faith in the gospel. Good stuff. This might look like a lot of us but actually about half of our family was missing at this reunion.
Here’s a couple photos of the family sitting around watching the annual horseshoe tourney. Which Shane and I took second place in this year. (No comments allowed Jeremiah…I will delete them! LOL) I can’t believe I didn’t get any actual shots of them throwing the shoes…….LAME!!!! Oh well….maybe next weekend!
This next photo is one I am soooooo glad I got this year. My family has had a tradition of making and pulling honey candy every year at this reunion for as long as I can remember. For whatever reason, it didn’t happen for a good 7-10yrs and this year was the first time in a VERY long time that Uncle Van did it again with his kids. There is always a crowd gathered around to watch and you can even take a turn pulling if you want to. Then they pass it out at night around the campfire. This is one of those fun memories for me I was glad to capture.
The rest of these photos are just random ones of my sister Hillary, my Aunt Rena & Uncle Steve, and cute little….well kinda little…Bode. He is Jeremiah and Heidi’s little brut. So stinkin’ cute. I get to see this kiddo again next weekend! Looking forward to it.
Alrighty. We invited my Mom & Dad and sista over tonight for dinner so I better get my tush up and get cooking! They will be here in a bit. I have a roast cooking in the crock pot and it’s making me HUNGRY! The house smells sooooooo good! I make the easiest and best tasting roast on the planet! (I ain’t proud. LOL) All you do is throw a roast in the crock pot, add two cans of cream of mushroom soup and a packet of Lipton onion soup mix…..VOILA! 4 hours later it’s perfection with instant yummy gravy to boot. Today I did three cans of soup and two packets of the Lipton because we have company coming. But you should try this! It’s amazing! I know some of you have! Anyway…..off to work on the taters and strawberry shortcake. I know you wanna come for dinner now! HA HA!
Hope everyone’s having a great weekend! Late!

How cool is that to have a testimony meeting with just family?! Our meeting would be VERY small! LOL I think it’s great that you know so much of your extended family. That’s just awesome!
I’m going to try your roast recipe. Just one question…is it a pork or beef roast? I’m guessing I could try either. Sounds YUMMY!

Shanna, all your pictures are awesome. I wish I could have been there. I can’t wait to see the scrap pages you make with them. I hate missing the family dinners too. Moving to NM though will allow me to visit more often. Love ya!
