Dress Rehearsal & Halloween giveaway!

baileeCostumeResizeMaceyCostumeResizeCassieCostumeResize Yesterday after the girls got out of school we did a little Halloween “dress rehearsal” for our church party tonight. Things are going to but nutso-crazy this afternoon with me trying to get everything together and out the door in time to get to the church and start decorating and setting up for our fun night of Trunk-Or-Treating. I wanted to get some good photos of the girls in their costumes and not feel rushed doing it. Plus we had to make sure we had EVERYTHING we needed. There’s nothing worse than getting ready to go somewhere and finding out you have to make an emergency trip to the store! I HATE that! LOL So the girls had a good time getting ready! Of course I will get more WitchGame 1photos tonight too. Kacie and Karlie will be coming so we are extra excited about that! I am really stoked about how we are setting up the trunk-or-treat this year. NOrmally it only ends up taking the kids about 15mins flat to go around to each trunk and get their candy so we decided to do something a little different. Instead of the activities committee having to come up with a bunch of carnival type games for the kids to play in addition to the cake walk and haunted hay ride….. we asked every family who will be decorating their trunks to also provide a game for the kids to play when they come trunk-or-treating. This will stretch out the fun for this kids and gets EVERYONE a little more involved! I think it’s going to be great! Our game when the kids come by our “trunk” will be “Pin The Nose On The Witch”. I had this clip-art witch in my Halloween file so I took her to Kinko’s and got it enlarged to 30 x 20 so she’s HUGE!!!! Oh!!! to be a kid again!

GhoulishGoodies1GhoulishGoodies3 ………So I promised I’d show ya the rest of that fun Halloween project I created using the Bo Bunny Spooktastic line for their blog. I found this wood container at Hobby Lobby and instantly thought “Halloween Candy!” I love altering things. Especially when it’s a project that combines both my loves….. tolepainting/woodworking and Scrapbooking! This was super fun! Want a chance to win it??? Just leave me a comment and tell me what ya’ll are doing for Halloween this year! I will give you through the weekend to party it up then on Monday I will draw a winner and send you this Ghoulish Goodies box … CANDY NOT INCLUDED! I gotta have SOMETHING to hand out to the kiddos right?

Happy Halloween!

Hey Shanna, your girls are so cute. I also love tolepainting/woodworking…although it’s been way too long since I’ve put the saw to use. Our Halloween plans are kinda up in the air, we were gonna go to Vegas, but now might just be staying home to trick or treat. Just love your candy container….awesome.

  2. Danielle (Dani) Says:

Dang, they are SOOO adorable!!! Taylor is going to be a vampire too, but the costumes were all gone so we are improvising a bit! ha

  4. Kelly C. Says:

Awesome costumes and a Great project!
Every year we do Trick or Treating “redneck style”…which means we load up a trailer to my hubby’s Rhino and the adults sit in lawn chairs and supervise the kiddos as they jump on and off as we ride up and down the neighborhood collecting treats as we go. It is major fun, the kids & the adults love it! Many other families do the sort of thing with yard tractors, four wheelers, you name it! Trick or treating red neck style is the way to do it!

  5. Ashley Harris Says:

Seriously girl! You so ROCK! I love this. We are doing our trunk or treat tomorrow night and then trick or treating on Friday of course. The babes is going to be a bumble bee, Ryan and Andrew will be pirates and Sarah will be on dang cute witch. Love your pictures!

  7. Stacy Says:

Your girls look absolutely great!! I like the idea of having a “dress rehearsal” so you can snap some good pics. (I think I will have to do the same.) This year we are having some neighbors over for dinner and then we head out with all the kiddos for some trick-or-treating. Can’t wait, I love Halloween….

  8. jaci Says:

  9. Audrey Pettit (APet) Says:

Oh, the girls look so adorable! Love, love, love those costumes! I just cruised the Goodwill store today looking for stuff for my kiddos to complete their costumes. We are not near as organized and ready to go as you. Hope you all have a wonderful time at the trunk or treat. The games sound like the perfect addition to an already fun event.

  10. Marti Says:

Love the game you came up with for trunk-or-treating! The girls look darling, too.

For Halloween, we are attending a party at DH’s office. They are doing a catered lunch, followed by pinatas and games for the kiddos. Then, we’re going to spend the evening with his uncle and take the kids trick-or-treating in his neighborhood. DH’s parents both passed away so his uncle is the closest “grandparent” my kids have. He is excited to see the kids, and the kids are thrilled to be hanging out with Uncle Don on Halloween!

  11. Lori Borntreger Says:

  20. Suzanne Says:

Let’s see, it will be a wierd one this year. My hubby flies in at 9:30 Halloween night so I will make a trip to the airport and then you can guess what we will do after. Ha! Ha! My baby is in Vermont and will be trick or treating with her cousins. She is nine and has never been gone from me more then a day or two. It will be 12 days when she gets home. My oldest 15 will be at a party, my 14 year old doesn’t know what he will do and my 11 year old will go trick or treating with friends so hopefully I wont have to take her. I will stay home and hand out full sizers if anyone wants to trick or treat here in Utah.

  21. Lily Says:

what a great idea! I am always so stressed trying to get good pics. A dress rehearsal is so smart.

For Halloween we are doing what we do every year. A bunch of neighbors sit outside together to hand our candy while the daddy;s take the kids around. It’s alot more fun than waiting for the doorbell to ring in the house> My mom’s group already had their annual trunk or treating halloween party. It’s always a good time. I’m also toying with the idea of taking them to the college I’m attending for their little party

  22. jan farnworth Says:

For halloween we are taking my son over to the local casino and doing there trunk halloween trick or treating and then hitting one of the local housing developments and then rounding up a stop at the church carnival. I hope it is kind of warm i hate trick or treating when it really cold.

  23. Lisa Dorsey Says:

I’m hoping to do some scrapping while waiting for someone to trick n treat at my house. I have big bowl of candy. Hopefully, my dad and bf won’t hit them lol other than that will be quiet nite

  27. christal bevans Says:

you make the coolest things lucky kids you have!! So my favorite halloween thing is when it’s all over and my kids aren’t boucing off the walls! ha ha no I love how excited they get and I love our annual ward halloween chili/pie halloween party.
Love the girls costumes too have a great weekend!! ttys

  28. AZAnjanette Says:

ok you MUST have made those gorgeous costumes. The girls are growing fast! Geesh and they are all so pretty. LUCKY YOU! What about ‘lil man?

So we are having our annual potluck and blocking off the cul-de-sac for the neighbors to all join in. This is our 6th year. I was a little leery about buying any chocolate candy. It’s so hot right now that I think it could melt if I set my bowl out on the potluck table before sundown tomorrow. I also bought my son a cute little lion costume but I think it may be too hot for him to wear it so I’m a little bummed. I’ll put it on him for pictures, but after that, he might just wear something a little more easy. My daughter is going to be ‘Barbie Mariposa’. I worried her costume might not be warm enough but looks like she picked a winner in this record heat. My hubby and I are going to be pirates….ARRGHHH

Have fun and what a gorgeous TRUNK! I’d love to win it!
