Day 8

LoveFrame 1 2
I had soooooo much fun creating this Love Frame. I’m feeling the urge to keep this for myself instead of putting it in with the other giveaway goodies! But I won’t keep it! I can make another one if I reeeeally want to. I found the bare wood frame at Michael’s for like $2.50 with a coupon. I painted it white and sanded all the edges. Then I added some fun little Valentine’s love to each of the openings. I wish this photo was better. It actually looks a lot cuter in person. Oh well…. you get the picture. HA HA HA!!! You REALLY DO! LOL You veGotMyHeart Anyhoooooo….. As I was messing around trying to think of some things to put in the frame I created another little Word Art. I didn’t end up using it on this project but am glad I made it so I can still share it. And I found this cute red cupid online red cupidsomewhere for free only I spaced it and didn’t save the link. I hate that I did that. I always like to give credit where it’s due! I used this cute guy in my frame. ♥

Okay…… that’s it for today. For my card kit members…. Obviously I’m running a bit behind on my cards this month. Should have the peeks and PayPal requests out by tomorrow! Thanks for your patience!

Hugs!♥

Countdown to Cupid - Day 7

ForeverLoveCard 1 This little Valentine is next to go in the goodie box. I’m not much of a fan of gold but this little cupid
just called out to me. I thought it was super pretty against the Martha Stewart papers I used in this paper pad. I wish I could tell you what company made the rub-ons but they were pulled from my stash with no packaging that I REFUSE to purge! LOL When I was done creating this card I found myself loving the sentiment work I did just by layering some rub-ons.
ForeverLoveInspired by the look of it….. I went to work trying to recreate something similar that I could use over and over again. Soooooo…… some more fun word art was born! LOL Just click on it to enlarge it then right click on it to save it to your computer.
Okay! That’s it for today! Hope you have a fantastic week! ♥♥♥

Day 6 — Wild About You

WildAboutYouLayout Sorry I’m late getting today’s post up. We’ve got all 7 kiddos this weekend so…. family first.

Okay… I just KNOW I’m not the only scrapbooker who does this. Please tell me I’m not. I’ve been hanging on to these Teresa Collins FreeStyle papers since last CHA release! Waiting for the PERFECT photos to use them with. I’m sooooo glad I hung onto them. I love this layout of Shane and I. I had to giggle when I showed it to him. Of course his reaction was…. “Nice… it’s Pink.” LOL HA HA!! He’s a dude. I explained to him that it was a “Valentine’s” layout and to try and see past the colors to the message.

RibbonandChunkyChipsI also fell in love with this hot pink ruffly ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby!!! Was totally stoked to be able to use it on this layout too! A roll of that and a package of the Bo Bunny Chunky Chips is going in the goodie box. FUN!!!!

Until tomorrow! ♥

Day 5–Valentine’s Hanger

ValentinesHolderHey friends!

Are you having fun so far…. peeking in and seeing what I’ve been up to? When I was putting together today’s creation I had the little people in mind. You know how excited they get when they bring their sweet little Valentine’s home from school with them? They are so eager to show you what they got at their school party. Then the sad part… those sweet little Valentine’s get shoved back in the bag or box and ultimately end up in the trash can. That’s how it happens at our house anyway. How about a special place to keep them for the rest of the month?

This would be a fun project to create with your kiddos. I cut a big heart (about 11″ x 9″) out of a glittery foam sheet from Hobby Lobby. Then I punched LOTS of red circles out to glue around the back of the heart in order to create a SCALLOPED border. Next I hand-stitched a little border around it with white embroidery floss and then glued the whole thing on some foam board but poster board would work too. You’ll need this for support. Last I added the tulle hanger and the string to hang the Valentine’s on. This is going in the goodie box along with some more little clothespins to hang up lots more Valentines. Have fun!

Countdown to Cupid… Day 4

LoveYouAlwaysAndForeverFrameLoveYoualwaysAndForeverFrameClose Today’s “lovely” creation was super simple. I know to some of you who don’t alter things much it probably DOESN’T look simple but I promise if you try it a few times it becomes really fun and easy peasy. This is just one of those super cheap wood frames you can pick up at Michael’s for $1.00. So for a dollar…… why not try it out?
All I do is lay the front of the frame down on the “back” side of the paper, trace it with a sharpie, and then cut it out. Nothing fancy. Next I paint the frame the closest color I can to the paper I’m using. While that’s drying I work on the paper or the embellishments I plan on adding to the frame. On this I sanded the edges of the paper then added a white machine-stitched border to it. Once the frame is dry you are ready to add your paper to it. Just the paper. Don’t add anything to the paper until after it’s secured to the frame. Next I used a big glue stick to cover every bit of the back of the paper. Really well. Now it’s time to postion it then move it around until it looks good and covers the frame well. This is why I always use a glue stick….. dry adhesives don’t allow you to “move” the paper around until you have it on perfectly. Then I take my brayer and run it across the frame to make the paper smooth and remove any air bubbles or pockets. Done! Now I can decorate the front!
31642vbI wanted to use these gorgeous rose trims by Maya Road in a way that would let them be the focus…. or main embellishment so I tried to keep the other things I added to a minimum. I wish I knew how I happened upon this super fun printable freebie but the sweet little TICKET I attached to the heart can be downloaded from Miss Cutie Pie for FREE here! The whole sheet of Valentine’s Tickets is soooooo beautiful! I can’t wait to use them on other projects!

Okay…. that’s it for today! The altered frame is going in the big goodie box to one lucky winner on Valentine’s Day! (photo of my cute cousins not included…Hee hee!) So be sure to leave a comment for yet another chance to win! ♥ Now….. off to play with my kiddos. School was cancelled today because it was snowing a TINY bit and there’s a nasty layer of ice on everything. Long weekend! Woot! Enjoy yours! ♥

Countdown to Cupid…. Day 3

Make Your Own Hero Arts ClingHappy Valentines to my Best Girfriend card Day 3 already! Where is this week going? I’ve been excited to share this card with you because of the stamp I used on it. It’s a new release cling from Hero Arts and there’s so many different things that can be done with it. I won one recently playing in a Hero Arts blog challenge but I already had it! Hee hee!!!! So I’m excited to say that this card and this brand new, never been opened cling stamp is going in the goodie basket. But whoever wins it has to promise to share with me what you create with it! ♥

HappyValentinesToMyBestGirlfriend I also want to share the Word Art I created to go on this card. I couldn’t find the perfect saying or stamp, or rub-on to use so I had to make my own. Feel free to save it and use it on a card for one of your besties!!!

Okay…. It’s 1am on Thursday morning. I couldn’t sleep so I decided to blog. LOL I think I can try again now! HA! Hope you’re enjoying everything so far!♥

Countdown to Cupid….Day 2

QuotesThatTouchMyHeartMini Today’s creative sweetness is what’s going in the giveaway! I altered this 4″ x 8″ journal to make a place to keep quotes that touch your heart. I love the little book I have that I add quotes to all the time. If you win the BIG box of goodies on the 14th and you want to use this in a different way then you can just take the giant heart tag off of it. I am in love with THIS paper that I used to cover this journal. I need to stock up on some more so I can hoard it and make sure I will always have some. I just love the little patchork design mixed with the little prints. It’s shabby charming!!! And the stamp I used on it is one of my very favorite Hero Arts stamps right now. You can find that HERE. I’m loving tulle these days. So don’t be surprised if you see tulle on a lot of my projects. HA!

CatchYourHeartOkay….. that’s it for Day 2! I will leave you with some word art I created using one of my favorite quotes. I’ve been having a lot of fun lately just playing with text over at Picnik.

Have a great day! Spread the love! ♥

Oh!!!!!!!!!! And don’t forget to leave a comment for your chance to win the box of goodies! ~Toodles!

Day 1… Countdown to Cupid Day is on!

I thought it would be fun to do something different for Valentine’s this year. And not just ON the 14th….. but EVERY DAY leading up to the 14th! I’ve been busy creating some sweet lovey dovey stuff to share with you over the next two weeks geared around this holiday. I’ve been super blessed in my personal and scrappy life over the last few years and am feeling the need to “spread the love” around a bit. Maybe even creatively inspire a few of you along the way too!

CountdownCupidDayLayout I feel like I should have shared this layout a week ago so you could create one too if you wanted! As I was thinking about the “Countdown” I’d be doing here I was reminded of the countdown to Christmas that’s always so much fun…. so why not do it for Valentine’s too??? I created this layout using Bo Bunny’s awesome new CRUSH line. I found the foam white Cupid at Hobby Lobby for SUPER cheap…. totally should have grabbed another one to give away…. darn it! I painted it red then gave it a light layer of red glitter. CountdownCupidFoamWhiteCupidGotta have a little bling right? I cut the little pockets into 1 3/4″ squares and postioned them where I needed. Before glueing everything down I machine stitched the 3 sides of each pocket so they would withstand the “little hands” over the next few weeks. Then I added the numbers and extra details. The last thing I added was the tags. Each one has something sweet written on it that we will do for someone else each day. You know….. Spread the Love. ♥♥♥ Here’s a few more photos so you can see the details. Be sure to click on the photos for a larger view. CountdownCupidCloseupCountdownCupidTagCloseup
So here’s how it’s gonna work! Though I would love, love, love to spread the LOVE around… I can’t honestly afford to mail 14 goodies to 14 people. As much as I would LOVE to I just can’t. But what I AM going to do is keep track of each time you post here on my blog each day. You will have 14 chances to win the BIG box of small goodies that will be shared over the next few weeks. So come check in and say hi each day for another chance to win! Bee Mine card BeehivePattern 1 Here’s today’s goodie that’s going in the box. I created this fun card using my Beehive pattern. You can use it for lots of different things. Feel free to save it and use it too!

Okay!!! That’s it for today! Tune in tomorrow for DAY 2. Have a great day! ♥♥♥

Here's my little contribution to the blog hop....

ScrapliftAs I was flipping through the pages of my February Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine... I was inspired by many layouts. It got me thinking about a few questions I get a lot from people. Do I scraplift at all? Do I use sketches as a jumping off point when I create? And to these I say YES!!!! As a general creative rule for me personally, I certainly want to sit down and just start creating a layout that I've dreamed up from scratch in my head. But..... if I sit at the table any longer than 10-15mins wondering where to start then it's definately time to reach for a magazine or a sketch for inspiration.
ChloeIHeartYouLayoutThe layout in the mag above inspired this layout I created of my little Chloe. (be sure to click on the images to see them bigger) It's not an EXACT scraplift but it's pretty close. The design is pretty much the same. The elements are different but placed in similar areas. I want to apologize for the blurriness of this photo but I don't really NEED to. HA HA!!! We all have imperfect photos in our stash right? And it's a photo of my baby girl that I want to remember. But as you can see.... I was even inspired by the title on the layout as well and used it on my page too! This layout didn't take much time to create at all when the design work was already there for me. Give scraplifting or sketches a try! They're a lot of fun! Oh! And I used Bo Bunny's Crazy Love line on this layout! Fun! ♥

**EDITED TO ADD** Holey Schmoley!!!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!!! I’m sooooo excited!!!!!
