TIME TO VOTE!!!

green It’s time to go vote for your favorite card again! This round was super hard for me! We had to create a monochromatic card.

What is monochromatic you ask?????

Well… here’s what dictionary.com has to say:

mon·o·chro·mat·ic / Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[mon-uh-kroh-mat-ik, -oh-kruh-] –adjective

1. of or having one color.
2. of, pertaining to, or having tones of one color in addition to the ground hue: monochromatic pottery.
3. Optics. pertaining to light of one color or to radiation of a single wavelength or narrow range of wavelengths.
4. Ophthalmology. of or pertaining to monochromatism

As you probably could have guessed…. I went with the color green! I tried to create a happy card using just green but since I am such a bright colors girl this was really hard.

Anyhoo…. on to the links! PLEASE come back here and tell me what you think of my card! I’m sooooo nervous about it! Keeping my fingers crossed! THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!!!!

GO HERE TO SEE MY GREEN CARD!!!

GO HERE TO SEE ALL THE MONOCHROMATIC CARDS!!!!

Remember in order to vote you have to click on the card then click on the link that says vote for your favorite card HERE. That will take you to the voting area where you’d pick the name of your fave!

ENJOY THE CREATIVITY!!! So many fabulous cards!

And they’re off.

Even after 5yrs now being divorced from my girls’ Dad…. it’s still weird to send them off for long visits. Tom and Renee just left here with the girls and I won’t drive out to North Carolina to get them and bring them home until the 8th of August. But my 10-day trip to AZ starts this Tuesday so I am beyond excited to go home and see everyone and show off my new lil’ guy! The countdown is on!

Lots to do today! I still need to finish preparing my talk for Sunday. Shane and I were asked to speak in Sacrament meeting tomorrow about Missionary work. I wish I had lots more experience with this topic than I do but sometimes I think the Lord asks us to accomplish things that will benefit ourselves more than anyone else. I’m sure that’s the case with my talk. Studying this week has helped me realize how much better I can be at helping to spread the gospel. My brother Casey is almost done serving a two year mission for our church in Lisbon, Portugal and I am super proud of him for it. I emailed him and was telling him about my topic and asked him this question:

Out of all the many things serving a mission has taught you…. Tell me what the most signifcant thing is you’ve learned while serving the Lord in this capacity.

Casey emailed me back with this reply: I have learned that Christ looks upon the soul and not the outer appearance. A lot of times we look at someone and think “that person won’t talk to us” or “that person doesn’t look like he would be a good member”. But I have been surprised at the people that end up becoming investigators and members. I have learned not to judge people as the world would, but as Christ would. Everyone needs to hear the gospel and Christ wouldn’t discriminate based on appearance, so I shouldn’t either.

Okay…. that’s a response from my kid brother who is only 21yrs old!!! LOL When did he grow up??? But seriously…. it touched my heart and his response was the perfect springboard for my talk. Hopefully I will be able to say what I am thinking…. that’s the hard part.

And then, I start teaching my new Primary class tomorrow as well. I was assigned the 7yr olds. What a fun age. They are preparing for baptism and so eager and willing to learn. I’m excited about this new calling though my girls are disappointed cause they were hoping I’d be teaching one of their classes.

LibertyEllaLibertyElla2 Before I go I will share this layout of my sweet niece Liberty I created based on Patter’s special CHA sketch you need to go see at the Triple the Sketch blog. There will be a drawing for an AWESOME prize for those who create something this weekend and upload it by Monday! Plus you need to see what the other designers did using the sketch! Lot’s of inspiration there! Happy Scrappin’! ItsABoyCardTTS16Then this fun card of little Brody is based on this week’s Sketch #16. And NO WAY are these his birth announcements! I am creative at times but I’m certainly not guilty of over-achieving! HA HA HA!!!

I think that’s it for now. I finished my Idol card already but I am not overly excited about it. I may end up doing something else if I have the time. Not sure!

Aight! I’m out!

That’s how I roll…..

HowIRollShirt 1 2Remember this??? When I picked this up for Brody last year after we found out we were having a boy I seriously couldn’t wait until he was able to wear it! I am shocked that time is here already! He fits 6 month clothes now and that just blows me away! I tried to snap a few photos of him in this shirt and the cute lil’ camo shorts my cousin Brooke gave him. He looks like a little stud. HEE! HEE! I wish I could get him to smile for me better but it doesn’t happen when I’m behind the camera. Oh well! They still turned out cute! Chubby cheeks, legs, arms and all! Brody2resizeBrodyresize Speaking of cute kids…. Kacie and Karlie have been super excited this week cause they just welcomed their new little sister into the world. Their mom just gave birth to a new little one this week and they named her Daisy. So lucky Kacie and Karlie have a new brother AND a new sister only a few months apart. How cool is that?

AND OMIGOSH!!!! LOOK WHAT JUST GOT POSTED!!!!!

GALLERY IDOL TOP 15 ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

I am sooooo flippin’ stoked you have no idea! Guess what I will be doing this weekend? HA!!!! Thanks again to everyone who voted! A whole new round of cards will get posted by Noon on Monday again so stay tuned! I have NO IDEA how I will make it past the next round because that monochromatic challenge already has me stumped but I will for sure give it my best!

Sharing the last of the Daisy D’s goodies! So, I’m not sure if I explained this before but one of the fun benefits of being on the design team over at Create My Keepsake is getting to scrap with different products! Every month they have a different manufacturer donate some awesome stuff so that members of the DT can use them and promote them. This month is Daisy D’s Chloe Marie line. Here are the last two things I created with it. KarlieAJLayoutDaisyDcard ……………….I am finally working on making Karlie and Kacie their own art journals like I’ve done for my girls so this is the cover to Karlie’s. She is so excited about it and I will finish up Kacie’s sometime this weekend. Then I did this card as well. Can’t wait to see what I get to play with in August!

Allrighty!!!! I gotta get some laundry done so I can pack my girls’ bags! Their Dad is picking them up here tomorrow on their way to Texas to visit Renee’s family for a week and I won’t see them again for 3 weeks. Sniff!

Have a great weekend!

I am…..

busy busy busy as a beaver with 6 kids all week! Shane just left to take all the girls swimming at the YMCA for a few hours so I thought I would hop on here to check in and say Hi! Brody should be up from his nap in a few then it’s off to run a few errands while I have 1 kiddo instead of 6.

I am soooooooo nervous about Friday! I really hope to advance to the next round of the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest but if I don’t…. that’s okay too! I just love a good challenge to get my creative juices flowin’. Plus, if I don’t advance then I won’t have to pack a few scrappy supplies to create a card while I’m in AZ on vacation! LOL We shall see! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH TO THOSE WHO HAVE VOTED FOR ME! You’re the best!

Oh…. wanna see some really super cool news??? Lookie what I won!!! I am sooooo flippin’ stoked cause I am a HUGE Pink Paislee fan (who isn’t?) so I can’t wait to get my hands on some new products!!! YAY!

IAMlayoutIAMlayout3Okay…. here’s another layout I did last night using the new Daisy D’s Chloe Marie line. I am in love with all these papers, flowers, and rub-ons! This was the only photo I had that really went well with this yellow paper so sorry you have to see my mug scrapped yet again. I hope you can see all the pretty pink and green bling on this page. It looks soooo much better in person! :)

Okay…. gotta run! Happy Hump Day ya’ll!!!

Time to vote again

Celebrate75CardCelebrate75Card2 ……………..It’s the “Scallops” round. That was our challenge this time around. To use scallops in a creative way on our cards. I chose to create a Birthday card for my Sweet Grandma who is turning 75 on July 31st. YES!!! This is for you Grandma! LOL (She’s a faithful blog reader!) Sorry you’re seeing it this way but I will give it to you when I see you! ANyhoo.. we were told we could post our cards on our blogs this time as long as we provided links to the gallery. Things seem a bit wonky over there still and I’m not too happy about it but hopefully with my family and friends voting for me I might have a chance to make it past this round. And if not, that’s okay too…. I really have had a ton of fun with this even though it’s been somewhat stressful. Okay… on with the voting.

Here’s the link to my card directly as well as the whole gallery. PLEASE READ!!! VOTING IS A BIT DIFFERENT THIS TIME! Once you are looking at my card you have to scroll down underneath it to where it says Description. There’s a link under the word description that says “Click here to vote for your favorite”. That’s where you would click this time. The “love this” button does not give me votes.

I hope you like my card Grandma!

Oh and if anyone wants the pattern to my cake that I designed for this card then shoot me over an email at ShannaVineyard@comcast.net

Thanks for voting friends! And have a SWEET week!

I should be in bed…..

I’m exhausted. I haven’t gotten much sleep lately. I think Brody is getting toofers. I think he’s teething. So I made a trip to Wal Mart tonight for teething tablets and Ora-jel. Seems to be helping. Crossing my fingers. I should be in bed but I need to blog before I have tooooo much to blog about and then I start avoiding it. HA HA! Does that make any sense at all??? LOL

StarIsBorn 1StarIsBorn2 Okay… so I KNOW I just scrapped this photo of the lil Dude but I ♥ it so much I had to use it again with these Making Memories goodies. At first I wasn’t liking this layout too much cause it looked like I threw up stars in the left corner but it’s grown on me. Fun stuff.

birdiesnest More wildlife on the homefront. HA HA! I told you we are a zoo up in here! Lookie what Shane found today. He was actually trimming the trees and came SUPER close to trimming right through this sweet little bird’s nest. There are 4 little babies in there. It’s kinda hard to tell from the photo. I told Shane to watch my back while I snapped this photo cause the Mama of these little peeps was pirched on our roof and squawkin’ like crazy at us cause we were too close to her babies. I was totally paranoid that she would swoop down and peck my head or something…. she was THAT mad. LOL The girls got a total kick out of it. Needless to say… Shane postponed the tree trimming a few more days until these guys have flown the coop.

scrappymess Check out this scrappy-mess. Hee hee! Wanna play? This is what happens when you’re trying to create a magnificant card for the next round of Paper Craft’s Gallery Idol Contest!!! It looks nothing like this now that I cleaned it up but can you tell what color scheme I went with on my card by looking at my table? I blurred out the card in the photo cause ya can’t see until Monday at Noon! But I will say….. the challenge was SCALLOPS. I almost died today when I showed Shane my finished card and he asked as he pointed to it, “Are those SCALLOPS?” I giggled and said yes cause he had no idea what I was talking about when I told him the new challenge. He was thinking shrimp or seafood when I said scallops. Ummm… riiiiiiiiiight. HA HA! Men. Anyhoo…. another fun hint on my card… It’s for my sweet Grandma’s 75th birthday. She turns 75 the end of this month so…. this one’s for you Grandma! :)

Shane took the girls this morning to register for fall soccer. YAY! YAY! YAY! I love watching my girls play soccer! It doesn’t start until after school starts but I am totally excited to be a soccer mom again! They were super excited about it too….especially cause Shane’s going to be Macey, Kacie, Cassidy, and Karlie’s coach! Bailee has to play in an older age group than the other girls so Shane can’t coach her but she’s still excited.

GoofyGirlsLayoutTTS15 1 I ♥ this layout. I ♥ these photos of my girls. I ♥ when they get all silly and goofy and laugh hysterically. It’s totally contagious! I had to do some bright and fun colors to reflect the emotion of these pics. I hope it worked. You can’t really tell by the photo but all the little red circles that create a border around the picture are not brads like you’d think but rather I punched a bunch of 1/4″ circles out of red paper and glued them down. This layout was inspired by this week’s sketch over at Triple the Sketch. It’s an awesome one this week…. go play!

Okay…. i am seriously getting sleepy now. Gotta get to bed. Church in the morning. I get to find out WHERE in the Primary I am going to be teaching tomorrow. Wait….. back up. Last week I was given two callings and they are going to announce it in church tomorrow. One calling is working on the Activities Committee…. Shane got the same calling. And the other one I was asked to be a teacher in Primary but the Bishop wasn’t exactly sure which age group it was when he asked if I would accept. LOL So I guess I will know when it gets announced. HA! Then NEXT week hopefully everyone in our ward will be on Vacation cause Shane and I have to give talks in sacrament meeting on Missionary work. I guess I better start preparing for that.

Aight… I’m out.

Happy Birthday 21st Birthday Janet!!!!

JanetandShanna 1My “oldest friend on earth” is officially 21 today! Wink! Wink! Let me explain what I mean by “oldest friend on earth”. By this I mean I have been friends with Janet longer than anyone else I know besides family. We have been best friends for 27 years now. How many people can you say that about really? We haven’t always been the call once a week friends but being inseparable at age 8 and into your teenage years really does have a lasting affect on a girl’s heart. And we both know we can call each other anytime we need a listening ear. I love and respect this girl so much! Her life has enriched mine just by being a part of it. Soooooo… Janet. If you happen to check my blog today….. Happy Happy Birthday girl! Make it a good one! JanetNGeannaGirlsCampResize I thought you would get a kick out of this old photo I found in my stash that I took of you and Geanna up at girls camp one year. Check out the writing on the wall behind you guys! “geanna loves Joey” and “shanna loves Byron”??????????? HOLEY SCHMOLEY! How hysterical is that??? I have 27 years of fond memories girl! You were such a huge part of my childhood and I’m blessed we still keep in touch and pray it will always be that way!

ProudFlagCard 1 I know ya’ll are curious what’s going on with the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Contest. First, THANKS SO MUCH to every one who voted for my card!!!! It bums me out that the Patriotic card round officially “doesn’t count” and it’s going to be a “do-over”. But I want fairness for everyone involved so it’s a good thing. And that means one extra round of creative goodness right? So…. we’ve been instructed to create a card using SCALLOPS. That’s the theme for our next challenge. We have until Monday at 9am to email them and then voting begins at Noon on this Monday the 14th. Like I did before, I will post a direct link to all the cards so you know where to go to vote for your fave.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Aight…. I’m out!

Oh my.

So.

Been on pins and needles waiting for our cards to get posted up at the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest. And it’s finally up but there are some MAJOR MAJOR issues going on over there. Apparently you can vote for your own card several times a day. Apparently you can vote for EVERYONE if you want to spread the love. AND….. as you can see…. there won’t be much in the way of a BIG announcement come Friday when you can already see for yourself how many votes each card is getting. I am bummed because I put so much heart into my card but I do know they are working things thru. We aren’t exactly sure yet what’s going to happen this round but I keep telling myself it will all work out. Anyway…. If you want to see the cards and vote for your favorite click here.

Or go here to my card directly.

My card is on the 2nd page which is also going to change. They are working on getting ALL the cards visible on one page. I guess you are supposed to be logged in and then click on the purple box that says “Love it” to cast your vote.

But check back here soon because I may have an update on what’s going on and I may need ya to VOTE AGAIN! LOL

Thanks for the love!

Aight… I’m out.
